Some of the DVDs are the latest DVDs set out in RedBox except they are free to check out. The library book selection is not so big, but I have no complaints. I am very happy with this library. I love watching Japanese anime and horror movies. One of the perks of this library is the free books and items at the entrance. They, also, have lots of fun and free activities for children. I don't have children, yet I think parents should take advantage of such services!

As the HQ of one of the most famous military units in history, you'd expect the 101st building to…read morehave some historical displays... and you'd be spot on. The structure itself is unique and sets itself apart from anything else on base. Big and blue! The first thing you might notice is the walls adorned with historical artifacts, signs and sculptures... that is if you miss the 10' obelisk outside. As you walk further in, there's an impressive Medal of Honor Rotunda with life sized jumper suspended my parachute lines in the center. Pretty Cool. Walk around. You'll see a display dedicated to Old Abe, the Eagle on the 101st insignia. My favorite was the small statue of the Paratrooper with the air-filled chute after landing. Memorial Day 2021. The Gander Memorial by the Pratt Museum was very impressive. 256 sugar maple…read moretrees are planted by the memorial. Each one has an American flag. I knew very little about the memorial until I read about it that day. The Gander Memorial honors 248 soldiers and eight crew members who died in the tragic plane crash Dec. 12, 1985, at Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. This horrific plane crash resulted in single largest loss of life the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) has ever endured. I enjoyed walking on the sidewalk circling the memorial. It was a time to meditate and remember.

The building is apparently one of the oldest buildings in the area. It was closed today but the marker reads, "Located at Oak Grove, midway between Clarksville and Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the Old Post Office served as a stop for the triweekly stagecoaches which operated between Nashville and the Ohio River towns. This building was erected in the 1830's or earlier and has also been used as a post office, church storeroom, and residence." There is parking available.
