We've been very pleased with our kid's teachers and the positive learning environment. They both loved the "4 by 4" schedule as opposed to the traditional school schedule, and we've found it to be a safe, welcoming school free of the cliques and social pressures we heard about at some of the other local high schools. The school infrastructure hasn't been the best, but that is in the process of being improved, albeit too late for our kids to enjoy. The only other minor complaint would be with some of the athletic staff, but in our oldest's case, that coach is no longer with the school. I would not have any hesitation recommending SDA to another parent who was considering sending a son or daughter there for high school.

The older kids openly bullied the younger ones, often in front of the teacher, with no consequences. According to my child, teachers were passive-aggressive toward each other, which created a tense and unhealthy atmosphere. The principal also controls what teachers are allowed to tell parents, so you may not get the full truth about what your child experiences during the school day. I would not recommend this school.

The small class sizes lead to individualization and great support from teachers. In addition to academic support, PAE encourages participation in school sports & activities, even without prior experience. These opportunities have helped our daughter to develop self-confidence and allowed her to create friendships with students across grade levels. We are so grateful for PAE & the culture of learning they have created.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD and with medication he went from needing a tutor to being a tutor at CSUSM. It's a disservice to students to not tell parents to get testing and talk to a school psychologist about problems like bullying in school which also occurred at Grauer and affected his performance. Lack of motivation is associated with ADHD and also the severe bullying that was occurring off campus when he was biking to school. A psychologist would have been able to deal with these issues.

He also strongly believes in giving his students a stage to both preform on musically (amazing program, led by amazing instructors) , and one to pontificate on via a once a year special event for parents and grandparents put on by the Girl Rising club called Grauer Speaks. In past years it has been a night of student, and sometimes faculty monologues exploring a wide variety of social problems; from from LBGTQ issues, to women's rights, and the "Rape Culture in America" to name a few that I witnessed. It is often an intense night of student involvement and activism. My daughter excelled while at Grauer, and is now attending a prestigious women's College in western Massachusetts and thriving in the liberal arts program. Bottom line, Grauer School has an excellent college preparatory program , led by a thoughtful and principled leader. Grauer School embraces the gamut of todays enlightened curriculum. I end up going to the doctor and they get it out. 3rd Grade- Meet three new friends, Distracted by iPad, Playing Tag and the Power Game. 4th Grade- Nervous on the first day of school in 2017, Celebrate my 10th Birthday, Still obsessed with Sonic, Become addicted to Fortnite on my PS4 Pro. 5th Grade- Get addicted to Fortnite, Not allowed to have cupcakes during anyone's small after school birthday celebration, Funny moments of fun with my tablemates. 6th Grade- Poor Grades but still pushing through, Distracted by iPad, won't do work, Doing stuff at lunch alone and talking to myself.

Each grade offers children to work at their own pace, and children can learn curriculum in reading/math up to two grades above each grade they're in without a competitive feel between the children. NO IPADS which is amazing since all public schools use that now as a learning tool and I'd rather my daughter not learn via tapping her finger on a screen. There is an intentional effort to have healthier food options at events, ordered school lunches, birthdays in class, aftercare snacks, but there is also no judgement amongst parents or between admin and parents. They offer extracurricular classes for kids in TK and beyond. My daughter does keyboard and dance once a week after school, and it's really nice, she just stays an extra half hour and I pick her up when it's done, and she LOVES them. The aftercare program has been amazing compared to the other Montessori we went to prior to ECDS. We absolutely love our teachers this year, along with the extracurricular teachers we've met. Ms. Hayes is the new principal but has worked at the school for over 10-15 years, and she is just wonderful, caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable. It's a really good feeling as a parent to have the principal and teachers open and welcoming of communication, and allowing us to be involved with our child's experience at school. I was not ok with this as my girlfriend likes me smelling like an alpha male (I am one) I walk it to the showers witch are always full of naked men. I walk over to one of the showers in the corner to see two men making out. I throw up in my mouth and spit it out after closing the stall door. I go over to one of the sinks and wash out the room. I go over to the janitors closet and pull out bleach pouring it in my eyes and mouth. I walk back to one of the stalls and open the door. What stood behind that door roped the ungodly sin I had seen just before... A big pile of shit was scatter all around but mostly by the drain. It looked like someone tried shoving it down. I turned to leave. I walked to my locker excepting that I was not going to have a shower. I put on my pants leaving my shirt and began leaving when I saw one of the cheerleaders (they let boys and girls on the team) He was walking In to the locker and headed over to one of the many lockers. I stayed behind to watch him change. He pulled off his shirt I saw his pale frail body. I couldn't pull my eyes off his body. The way his hair laid just above his eyes. I felt myself drawn to him. I walked over to him. I was painful obviously towering over him. He looked at me before looking down at my chest. I grabbed his chin pulling his head up to we were face to face. You look so beautiful. I lend in for a kiss which he reciprocated we locked lips and only pulled away when we were out of breath. I pushed him against the locker and we were hard making out. We stopped after 10 minutes when the bell rang Signaling that school had ended. I invited him to lunch at the nearby habitat and we went. I ditched my girlfriend and broke up with her over text that night. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 months and love each other a lot.

This high school is an amazing and still semi-new school!…read more LCC has a wonderful staff of nice and friendly administration and teachers that are there to all help the students. All of the students here at this school all graduate, and continue to go onto such wonderful colleges all around the country. Their theater department is large and has a great indoor theater. This high school also has a outdoor amphitheater for those great summer nights. This school offers languages such as Japanese, French, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Also, they have a great dance, photography, and computer graphics area.

The guys cook up a mean Kosher hot dog as well as the best hamburger in town. The meats are flown in from Rocky's Food Distributors who makes sure we have the best meat for the customers. The MAV meal is Six dollars, which includes a drink and chips. The kosher hot dog is about six inches and is triple the size of your average dog. Come see the parent volunteers in concessions who always make sure you have what you need. The best part is watching our student athletes play football under head coach, Sean Sovocool. Its the best gig in town. If you forget your jacket, theirs awesome spirit wear. It's always fun to have the mav wear when rooting for the boys.

We are active members of the church and were excited to send our son to kindergarten at the school. He has mild autism and adhd and they claimed to have resources. After 3 days of school, we were asked to leave or hire a full time aide (not realistic financially). It was heart breaking and we were out over $1000 for 3 days of private school. My son now attends the public school and they are great with him.
