**Pacific Life Insurance Review: A Masterclass in Corporate Arrogance and Unprofessionalism**…read more As a law enforcement officer with over two decades of service, I've developed a finely tuned sense for when someone--or some *entity*--is overreaching and abusing authority. I recently began exploring supplemental life insurance options beyond my agency's underwhelming offerings. On Tuesday, July 14th, after inquiring through Zander Insurance, a Pacific Life agent contacted me. What followed was not a professional consultation but a textbook example of why this company deserves every bit of skepticism it receives. I have zero hesitation providing a complete medical history from birth to my current age of 41. Transparency in underwriting is reasonable. What is *not* reasonable--and what I find profoundly insulting--is the company's demand for exhaustive financial disclosure: bank statements, home details, full financial history, driving records, and essentially every scrap of personal data short of my DNA profile. Pacific Life apparently believes that because they are a "big player," customers should simply surrender their entire lives for inspection, waiving privacy rights so their bureaucrats can paw through documents like probation officers with a search warrant. Let me be perfectly clear, as only a law enforcement professional can: There is a categorical difference between providing sensitive information to legitimate governmental authority under strict legal protocols and handing it over to a profit-driven insurance company on a fishing expedition. The condescension dripping from their process is staggering. They offered no coherent explanation for why my full financial life needed to be exposed beyond vague mutterings about "underwriting rules." A basic credit check to flag bankruptcies or fraud risks? Understandable. Demanding my entire financial portfolio like I'm applying for a classified clearance? That's not due diligence; that's entitlement wrapped in corporate jargon. Other reputable providers I spoke with had no such invasive requirements. Yet Pacific Life couldn't even articulate a legitimate purpose. Instead, they simply expected compliance. How delightfully arrogant. No wonder this company maintains its supposedly "high ratings"--those metrics likely reflect balance-sheet stability built on collecting premiums from people who don't push back, not on customer respect or service quality. The agent interaction itself was a farce. Repeated requests to spell my address, restate my employment details, and clarify basic information--multiple times--while children played audibly in the background. If you're going to cold-call potential clients, at minimum secure a quiet professional environment. Asking a customer to repeat themselves three or four times because you can't hear over the chaos is not only unprofessional; it's disrespectful of the client's time and intelligence. I was in a controlled, quiet setting. The least one might expect is reciprocity. In short, Pacific Life exemplifies everything wrong with certain corners of the insurance industry: invasive overreach masquerading as standard procedure, paired with sloppy execution. I terminated the conversation immediately and will never consider them again. Law enforcement professionals--and anyone who values their privacy and dignity--would do well to look elsewhere. There are better options that treat customers as partners rather than suspects whose lives must be laid bare for corporate convenience. **Strongly recommend avoiding. Zero stars.**

It seems that the reviews for this branch are either all in or all out, so I will do my best to…read morejustify my all in rating. I opened a $2,000 IRA with Schwab 25 years ago as a passive way to invest in the stock market. Initially, I mainly used the phone service to help me learn about the market and terms/procedures on investing. Over time and with some luck (thank you Costco), my funds increased. As I approach retirement, I wanted to get more in depth assistance with my investing. I've been blessed to have a couple of 401k plans with past employers and both of my parents left me a modest amount of inheritance, so I need help with a strategy and also Roth conversions. I had multiple meetings with three companies (and called a couple others), and Schwab proved to be the best choice for me. The level of service all depends on what you want. With simple, no minimum, no fee service you have access to people in this office and their 24 hour line. Once you hit a reasonable threshold, you add a Financial Consultant at no charge. And finally, if you wish to have them to manage your portfolio, for a percentage fee you can add a Wealth Advisor. I am not charged any commission fees. They are key in helping me with all financial matters including tax strategies, partnered referrals for supplemental insurance and trust creation. Compared to other financial management companies, Schwab offers various options that charge a fee either equal to or less than all others I vetted. They do not charge a fee for cash/cash equivalent investments and have options such as bonds management that are lower than all those I interviewed or made calls to get fee information. The personal service I receive has been far and away above all others. They listen to me at our meetings and I have as much input on my investments as I want. It truly feels like a team effort. Thankful for Schwab and my team (Brian - Investment Consultant, Scott - Financial Consultant and Jonathan - Wealth Advisor).

One month ago, I was misinformed by their banking division for fraud incident and was recommended…read moreto freeze the account. I was later informed that it wasn't a fraud but merely a misplacement of deposits to my other bank. 1. The fraud was misinformed to me by Victoria at their banking division. Due to her misleading statements of that someone cashed my check at 53rd bank at New York, under fear, I was induced to make the decision to freeze the account. 2. No one at their banking division called me to report to me what's going on. My fear index was at all time high when I was out of town and have limited resources to find out what's going on. 3. I've made a lot of phone calls and later found out that it was just a misplaced deposit into my other bank. I've informed them and Charles Schwab had known that it was just a check misplacement but failed to lift the restriction and wrote off the investigation. In summary, this bank mislead, misrepresented data and induced client to make wrong decision. The customer service at brokerage firm was unable to coordinate with their fraud investigation for correct data. Finally, they used this misleading tactic to freeze my bank account since last year. I've made so many phone calls and some of my payments to credit card company got returned unpaid because they placed the restriction on my banking account by knowing that there's no fraud. I have called customer service so many times requesting to lift the restriction and to transfer my money back to the brokerage account. As of today, there's no transfer and the restriction is still placed there. This is my question to your management team at Charles Schwab - How long are you planning on having this kind of financial abuse to senior citizen?
