New staff is a bit slow to understand, they like to shout a lot to each other, and the food is spicy, yiykes, seems like they still need some time to adjust. However, the setting is everything here: bamboo huts in the middle of the old city of Antwerp! If your tongue can take it :)

So when I passed the following day and noticed it a bit slower prior to the night rush, I hopped onto it. This is a big statement to make, I know that but this might definitely be the best green curry I have ever had. I enjoy trying new Thai spots to find the best green curry and this is in the running. Too bad I have to fly 9 hours to get more. The robust and dynamic flavors I will think about as a reference when I get green curry, my new north star. I am not sure if this is a first come first served spot or reservation so give them a call to check. This spot is pretty romantic that I imagine reservations are suggested especially closer to the weekend. Sit outside and people watch for an extra perk (I love people watching). If people walking by isn't fun for you, sit inside or upstairs for a slower vibe.

After a quick stroll evaluating options, we decided on Krua Thai. The restaurant is small and cozy with friendly staff. After browsing the menu, we decided to take starters and a main course because we were quite hungry. My husband ordered one of the soups and I took the fried chicken in banana leaf - yum! For our mains, my husband ordered the spicy basil chicken dish and I decided on the fried duck. If it says spicy you can expect spicy! But mine listed no spice and was a bit too sweet for my taste. Luckily you can ask for a side of dried chili pepper! You have a lot of options - vegetarian, fish, chicken, pork, duck, and beef - so if you're with a group this is a great location. The low lighting gives a cozy, intimate atmosphere. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the mood for Thai.
