I had this little Mexican restaurant on my list to visit not only to see if some of the regional…read moreflavors can be replicated in France but also because they have vegetarian and vegan options. It is a very cute, yet small eatery located in a trendy part of Marseille. There are a total of three tables inside and several tables outside.
The team running Mexicaine a Marseille is super chill and speaks English if needed. The menu is limited but simple.
What I liked the most was that they provide quesadillas, burritos, salads, and tacos in meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. There are plenty of choices to be had. Every option has fresh ingredients.
TIP 1: Skip the nachos, the guacamole is pretty good for being made in France, but the chip with melted shredded cheese is not the same as melted liquid cheese.
If you order a drink, grab it from the fridge and let the cashier know at the end when it is time to pay what drinks you had.
TIP 2: The benches and tables inside are seated high. If you or the accompanying diners have limited mobility, I recommend eating outside on the patio.
This place gets busy. There are a lot of pickup and delivery orders, but it adds to its charm and reputation. While it may not be a taqueria from Guadalajara, the team makes every effort to bring some Mexican flavors and tastes to France.
