It's really hard to find a Mexican fast food in Bordeaux with the over saturation of kebab and burger places plus fast food Vietnamese and Chinese places. Thus, I was really excited to try Arbol, and it didn't disappoint. Came 40 minutes before closing on a Thursday afternoon and had the Vacaliente burrito with pica dillo. Didn't know about their in-house drinks, so I only had Orangina with my order. Can't comment on any of the sides either because I'm on a budget after the holidays. LOL Comparing from the burrito and Mexican fast food places in the U.S., the prices at Arbol are similar, which is great because I find that their ingredients are fresh and also delicious. The size of my burrito was also generous, and even though I didn't get any of the other sides and drinks, I find their prices to also be reasonable. The person behind the counter was nice, and he spoke to me in English, which was very helpful for me since my French is terrible (I try, but it hurts the ears.). The place was small but modern, and I like that they had Valentina hot sauce! A+++ on that! Though the American side of me wants to push for some smoked Tabasco sauce. Yumm! Will be back for more for sure! Hope to try more of the sides and the drinks next time!

Not sure if they got watered down and sloppy because French people don't really know a good margarita but I was a bit disappointed time around. Also disappointed in the michelada but well cest la vie! Nevertheless the food is pretty good I mean with a Mexican mother/daughter running this quaint little place it better be! Amongst my friends, we tried the Mega Quesadilla, the Chicken Tacos, and the Variety platter.. none of us were very satisfied. However, the sangria was excellent and saved our experience. Considering the cheap price, the quantity is quite a lot and it is served in a big pitcher with fun extra long straws. Would recommend stopping in for a quick drink but skipping the food.

I've had a fair amount of tacos living in France over the last year - a "French taco" not a…read more"Mexican taco", much to my chagrin. French tacos are like a grilled burrito, filled with your choice of meat, sauce (mostly cream based, and/or cheese), and fries. Not really your healthiest meal, but still tasty, cheap, and filling. The tacos here are French tacos, and not Mexican tacos. We were looking for food before getting on a 2 hour train, and this was one of the few places open on a Sunday (welcome to France) and we only had 15-20 to get something to go, so tacos worked well. This whole area seems fairly quiet and not heavily trafficked -- so not quite sure how fresh the meat and food are here, with not a ton of turnover. We opted for a bruschetta and a taco, but I would just stick to the tacos, I didn't care for the bruschetta. We got the bruschetta which I wouldn't recommend - we go the BBQ flavor, which was a piece of bread, smeared with BBQ sauce, a lot of ground beef, a slice of turkey or ham, and a ton of mozzarella cheese on top. It was a bit messy to eat, so don't get this if you're going to eat it outside of the restaurant or planning to take it on the train. I wouldn't get this again - I much preferred the taco. You can pick the size of taco that you want, with your choice of meats - as you go up in size (and price), you can pick an additional meat to add. We got chicken and ground beef with a harissa sauce which was a good combo. It had fries and either cheese or creme fraiche inside and was pretty rich and carb-heavy. I liked it, but if you're trying to eat healthy, this should not really be your choice. The taco was grilled and kept warm in the foil for 15 min or so while we walked to the train station, so it's a good choice if you want something to eat as you're walking or in transit. I didn't think any of the meats were of particularly great quality - it felt a bit cheap and greasy, but you get what you pay for I suppose. I don't know if I would come here again - it was fine for something quick and easy, but I've had better "tacos" in France. This is fine if there's nothing open and you're hungry and want something inexpensive, but it's nothing I'd necessarily go back for.

(Believe me, we searched) So when you finally find one you tend to be pretty excited about the place. Thankfully we were not let down when trying the food. Minimal English was spoken but that did not stop us communicating we wanted two kebabs and fries. The kebabs were gyros style and tasted really good. Loaded with your choice of sauce, meat and salad. The fries were thin and crispy and again covered in garlic mayo. Well that was just me. It's not the most inviting of places, it is what it is. A kebab shop with some seats outside. Still it's very good at what it does and you won't go wrong here if you fancy a bite to eat with food on the more indulgent side rather than healthy.
