Highly recommendable restaurant!…read more My friend from Santiago reserved this place for us - we were 8 people total - and we had a brilliant evening... We shared a number of dishes, mainly seafood, and these were delicious. The house wine was also good. The portions are abundant... Let the restaurant prepare a variety of desserts to share! Very yummy!!! The setup of the place is typical for this area. Big wooden tables... Stone walls... The ceiling covered with greens (i.e. plants)... Very nice! The service and prices were good. We much enjoyed the live music they played later on with particular instruments.. Galician music and dance! :) Make a reservation to be sure of a table... Also for lunch as this place is usually packed. ;) Enjoy!

With table service, you can order from any of the vendors, and after starting with a basket of crusty bread, we had the Pulpo a la Plancha from Casa Maria. This was a whole grilled octopus tentacle served over turnip greens and boiled potato, all dressed with paprika oil. We also had the rice of the day from Le Petit Tamboril, which was a paella of rice boiled in a yellow seafood broth along with chunks of shrimp and calamari. The rice had a deep, umami, seafood flavor from the broth and perfectly crispy, caramelized bits (socarrat) on the bottom of the pan. Everything here came at a great value, and the lively, hip atmosphere made for a fun place to dine!

As we approached, we saw the Michelin sign and were delighted. The food was superb. Not many items on the menu, but I think that's great as I am not a local Galician and wouldn't know what would suit my ignorant foreign taste. We decided to play safe and ordered salad, grilled veggies and Rice and Seaford (similar to paella). The salad had peeled tomatoes that were so sweet, it tasted like fruit. The veggies were grilled to perfection with nothing except a pinch of salt...it was amazing! The Rice and seafood had a flavor we couldn't pinpoint, but it produced a cornoecopea of flavors...creamy, lightly cheddary. Soooo delicious. The ambiance and service was top-notch to match. Thoroughly impressed with the place overall.

The seasoning was spot on and the aioli on top was a wonderful addition. A great creamy Galician beef with peppers rice was very umami and the beef was beautifully braised. Our third dish was Cuttlefish in ink with smashed potatoes and a fried egg. A unique dish that tasted of the briny ocean. It was topped off with a three cheese cheesecake that while delicious was more of a custard. The wine list shows off the local wines and we enjoyed some spectacular Albariño's. The service was a little slow but made for a nice relaxing 2 hour lunch.

We were in raincoats and Gortex shoes, but they could only do so much. We all broke down in tears when we made the turn from Arco de Palacio to Plaza del Obradoiro because there it was, the archcathedral, standing gallantly on our left. We hugged each other, said a prayer, took some photos, got our compostela (certificate), and then looked for a place to eat. From the plaza, we headed down Rúa do Franco and landed at A Taberna do Bispo. There was a long wait to seat our party of seven together, so we ended up on two tables. Champiñones A La Plancha - These griddled button mushrooms were the perfect way to get our veggies in. Boquerones En Vinagre - These were the herbiest anchovies we had during our camino. They were served with green and purple olives. Calamarcitos A La Plancha - Just like the mushrooms and anchovies, these grilled baby squids were served in olive oil with herbs. They were very tender and tasty. Mejillones - We finally got steamed mussels done properly. So much better than the ones we had at Sarria. Solomillo De Terneira Montaditos - These veal tenderloins were awesome. Perfectly seared medium-rare, each was served on bread and topped with shishito pepper. Vieira A La Plancha Con Langostinos - Lovely to look at, heaven to eat - that's how to best describe this dish! Each half-shell scallop had two plump prawns and they were grilled and drizzled with the same olive oil concoction they used in the other dishes. So delicious! The restaurant was elegant-looking and had the vibe of a tourist trap, but we did not regret going here. There were other items on the menu that we could have tried, but we simply would not have been able to finish if we did. Our server was very friendly and had plenty of recommendations, one of which was the scallop. We were so glad we ordered them!
