I purchased a car battery online ($129.99). I've only had it for 6 months, and the battery is now…read moredefective (car won't crank over/start). The salesperson, Aaron told me that I would have to wait for them to test the battery (battery was frozen solid), and once they confirmed it was defective, I would have to get a code from the store and go back online to reorder a warranty replacement. Then go back to a store and pick up a new battery. They wanted me to leave the battery, and they wanted to call me when they tested the battery and had the results. I checked the online purchase warranty, and found no such policy that states I would have to retrieve a code from the store and go back online to re-purchase a new battery. I also did online chat with Advanced Auto specialist Jon, and he told me that any store should be able to help me with an online warranty purchase. Jon said a simple store exchange was all I needed. I decided to take the battery to Advance Auto Store #4274, and I was able to exchange the defective battery with no questions asked (5 minutes). Why did this Aaron guy ask me so many questions and give me some online run around bullshit?? And the second store asked zero questions and completely exchanged (after testing it, and found defective) it for a new replacement battery. It states in the warranty that I have free replacement for 2 years from purchase date, if the battery is found to be defective. Thank you store #4274! Store #6817-thank you for wasting my time in the -45 degree temperature.
