The Guiness was as good as you get in Dublin or elsewhere in Ireland. The bartender and the rest of the team was very nice and helpful - something you dont often see in an Irish Pub - no matter where in the world its located. Also, the burgers etc were pretty darn good. I'd go back AND I didnt think Id ever say that about an Irish Pub. :)

C'est sans doute le pub le plus authentique de Marseille et j'y ai toujours passé un bon moment, que ce soit pour une soirée entre amis, un match de rugby ou une pinte par une calme après-midi d'hiver près de la cheminée. Les prix sont raisonnables et le service agréable. En plus c'est ouvert le dimanche ce qui est plutôt rare dans le quartier. J'espère qu'il sera encore là dans 15 ans !

If you don't like fighting a crowd, I recommend showing up to the waterfront bars in Marseille on a Wednesday night in October! :) Fall is an "off-season" in Marseille, so the entire patio of tables (probably 150 seats) was basically empty, excepting our group. Staff is friendly and generally pretty quick (again, perhaps due to non-existent crowds). There's a full bar drink selection, including my most recent great discovery: peach syrup mixed with light beer (don't knock it until you have tried it). Huge plus in that they take credit cards (not a given in Marseille), but pretty big minus in that they generally won't keep a tab. Free olives and sour cream and onion chips located near the door! They're self-serve - grab a bowl (or several) and bring them to your table.

Fun spot for the expat 20-somethings with decent drinks (as any Irish themed bar has) and even a…read moresnack or two - but no full menu to tuck into bangers or colcannon - so best just to keep in mind a nice place to hear English spoken and to watch the Irish and the Brits bet each other as to who can chug the most beer faster while temporary French girlfriends, classmates via a study-abroad program no doubt, watch on in good cheer.
