As well to help us reach a fair and significant settlement. That was no small task. --All the office staff, paraprofessionals, and lawyers are all so very professional, prompt and have great communication. They always kept us in the loop by email and phone every step of the legal process. --In addition they always prepared us for each step of the process, especially the preparations for paperwork summaries, deposition, pre-trial and the negotiations that helped us get the best settlement we were entitled to. That was no small task and they did a great job. --We are thankful to have them represent us all these years. --A special thanks to Mary Beth, Michelle, Sam, Bob and Jeff.

This is the most evil law firm in the area and they employ the most evil people in the area. The…read morelies they've responded with on my name are disgusting! You know why they haven't sued me for accusing them of malpractice? Because they committed malpractice and the main attorney that worked for me also committed felonies that he should have been disbarred over like delaying my case for lucre for the benefit of the firm. He also lied about payment norms from the start and manipulated me on a laundry list of medications to sign a bad contract. I would have fired them down the road when I was sober enough to realize I got into a horrifically bad deal, but I couldn't find an attorney to go after them. No attorney in the area is willing to challenge them on malpractice, it's a broken system and they bank on nobody will force them to follow the law. I believed his lies about payment norms because I was on a laundry list of medications that would have made it illegal for me to testify or sign a contract, but they honored it for some reason because it benefited them solely. I was in severe pain only awake 1-2 hours a day and not sober because of the medications I was on and they robbed/manipulated me. My attorney was also evil enough to lie about the story of events that I told him I experienced. He tried painting me in more blame so I'd feel obligated to take the settlement that only benefited this firm! I believe this is a typical strategy used by this firm to coerce victims into settlements that aren't beneficial to them. My attorney was literally showing me I did not have an adequate defense/team on my side because they were lying to benefit themselves. It was absolutely disgusting having someone I paid, try to tell me I knew the driver was drunk. I never once said that and I did not know that! I don't know how you people sleep at night, I will never get over what you did to me. Never!!!! They love to throw the positive review I wrote in my face, but like to neglect mentioning that was after I was bribed about 10,000 dollars to sign it, plus given additional free legal services that was never completed for me. I only wrote that positive review in hopes that the remaining work I had would be handled appropriately, it was not. I'm betting majority of your positive reviews are related to what I just said. It was so cold and calculated of this firm to screenshot my review after the fact, you knew then I was angry and tried to cover it up. I would have never written a review or even though of it, if I wasn't begged to do it directly after receiving a decent sized financial bride. What I experienced was malpractice and I got robbed insanely hard. It's also absolutely disgusting that that attorneys malpractice got me a negative judgment from a judge and this firm thinks it's acceptable to provide me with no form of compensation for something I had a contract with them to complete. I could have bought a decent house for the money you stole from me? I don't see how you think it's justified to take that kind of money from people. That money was literally meant for me! You argued the entire portion was for me! It's messed up you were evil enough to not cap the 1/3 you stole. You only got 1/3 because you lied from the start and never would admit it was possible to pay only for the work that was done. Multiple people deserve to be in prison over my experience with this company. Everything they ever say is nothing but lies. The head attorney here is the most evil person I've ever encountered, I would give that to the attorney I had but he was special Ed (for an attorney) and thought way too highly of himself. It's amazing how much more I knew than he did in a ton of areas. The head attorney wanted to give him credit for how my case was approached in regards to 1 specific piece, not realizing I was the one who gave him the suggestion. He had no clue. They charged me for top shelf legal services and gave me 1 amateur attorney. That's 100% false advertisement and something they should be sued over misrepresenting.

Sadly, I've become an expert on lawyers in my time here in Geneva. Lawyer for property, lawyers…read morefor work, lawyers for everything. Sigh. When I first started writing this review, I realized that it was more of a complaint of other lawyers rather than why I've been so pleased with Heaton and Venuti. That being said, this review will exclusively be about why I'm five-starring them and not about my distaste for other lawyers (well, almost exclusively). Every cloud has a silver lining. For me, that lining was Ms. Eliza Heaton, the newest legal prodigy at Heaton and Venuti. Why have I been so pleased? Would you like it alphabetically, numerically, or in order of importance? I'll do all three. 1a. Quality work. She is very diligent in her work, always prepared, and thorough. It shows in the excellent outcomes and results I've had. No sad sacks here. There is a real pride in work here. 2b. Exceptional communication skills. There is no arrogance and superb follow up on cases. Nothing worse than chasing your lawyer to get an answer and follow up or having your lawyer speak to you in some garbled legal jumble meant to confuse. That has never happened with Ms. Heaton. 3c. Honesty. Now here's a commodity and should arguably be ranked 1a. Her honesty can be demonstrated in three examples. First, one time I asked her a complicated question and she told me, "I'm not sure, I'll find out." She took a day, figured it out and got back to me. Refreshing. Second, she has been very honest regarding the merits of a case and doesn't just encourage a case for her own personal benefit. Third, life always come down to the bill and her billing is clear and fair and honest; not some nebulous arbitrary bill or a psychotic bill listing each phone call or photocopy you were charged for. 4d. Compassion. I know I was going to speak about my positive experiences at H and V, but so many lawyers are so jaded or apathetic that work is just a job or a paycheck as demonstrated by their demeanor and attitude. Every interaction I have with Ms. Heaton has been enthusiastic and really caring about the case at hand. When I work with her, I feel that this case is personally important to her. That's meaningful to me. 5e. Pride. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work. There is a purity to it where the whole is greater than the parts. Once you start working with Ms. Heaton you will see that she takes great pride in her work which in the end is your work because she is representing you. I would strongly recommend Ms. Heaton to anyone looking for a lawyer; she stands for superior to any other lawyer I've used. I think that Ms. Heaton specializes in family law, marital law, and estate planning but will accept any variety of legal challenges on a case by case basis.
