Les Schwab Tire Center

Les Schwab Tire Center

We've bought one set of tires here and had a tire repair. They are professional, friendly and do…read morequality work!!! Check them out yourself and see what you think :)

My daughter is a single mother trying to make ends meet by working long hours for the Post Office…read more So every cent she makes she needs. She was going to get some tires from Les Schwab but after she told me the price I told her to look elsewhere. She got all four tires from Walmart for the price she paid for two tires from Les Schwab. She had already paid for them but she needed to have the front brakes on her 2007 trailblazer. So they took the money she paid for on the tires to use toward the brake job. I told her to make sure that they did not do both brakes on the front since the only one she needed was on the front left, where the pads were down to the metal ant had gouged out the rotor. The right front rotor was in great condition and only needed new pads. I took her car to have the work done at Les Schwab , was not to comfortable about that. I told them that I wanted to see the old parts they took off the car after work was done. When I returned to them to get the car, the bill was a whopping 680 dollars all together, I looked at the bill and asked them why they replaced the rotor on the right front. Was told that it was their standing policy since 1952 because they did not want the breaks to wear unevenly. I am from the old school and have replaced many brakes on numerous cars I have owned. I checked the rotors when I dropped it off and the right was in excellent condition no wear whatsoever. I also looked up rotors brake pads and accessories on the front breaks. Cost for kits on Amazon was $118.00 for two complete kits. I had them show me the rotors and breaks they had took off and again the one rotor was in excellent condition. But they tried to insist that it was less thick than the new ones. I cannot believe that Les Schwab is so greedy that they would take a single mom for everything they could get. Other shops would have been around $300.00 complete. No way to get any money back from them. So buyer beware, check other companies out first before going to Schwab, My daughter was cheated out of over $500.00 in my view, that is $500.00 she could have used for other bills like food and gas. Their discourse on why they did things did not sit well with me especially that after my daughter got home and I explained to her the cost. She told me that the manager had told her that if the front right rotor didn't need to be replaced they would only replace the brake pads. Which is the normal thing to do.
