Not well marked and I guess you can just drive onto the trail if your equipped with AWD. The trail is really cool and looks like it's been driven over a lot. However we saw no cars or tractors. Also barely any people. We did 3 miles of the trail before heading back. I looked it up after and it looks like it goes on forever. The terrain is ever changing. Parts have running water on both sides which is really cool. Also the trees perfectly frame the trail. There are even parts through farmland where there is a row of trees on either side but it's in the middle of an open field. Also at one point an off leash dog came onto the trail. It scared us but seemed friendly. I think it came from a neighboring property. Just so you know I wouldn't consider this hiking. It's easy and flat except where it's muddy.

Furthermore, the scenery from the mountain top was stunning, and I couldn't take my eyes off it. The horses were also exceptionally well-mannered. Our tour guide, Kim, patiently and individually instructed each of us on how to handle the horses. Kim also dedicated her time to arrange us for a memorable family photo at a picturesque spot. Without a doubt, this has been my most exceptional experience to date. I highly recommend it!

This is a fun fair and one certainly steeped in agriculture traditions. We recently attended for…read morethe first time and enjoyed ourselves, but there were a few quirks we ran across that I will get to later. Depending on your age and when you go, many of the carnival rides are included in your admission which helps justify its $22/person price (for kids over 2... ouch!) It is nice that they don't nickel and dime you over every ride, but that is pretty expensive if you don't want to go on the rides and there isn't any other option. They have lots of areas to watch animals (cows, horses, sheep, chickens, rabbits, etc.) prepare for judging. There are buildings set aside for other interest, such as the model railroad exhibit, the carnival except, and the farm equipment area. Some were locked up when we arrived and we never got to see them all. That was disappointing. Plenty of food was available for sale with all the usual suspects present and even a few new ones that surprised me (pickle pizza? Um, pass). Inexpensive food was also for sale by the local Fire Department for those who wanted to save a few bucks. Many places have similar things at different prices (I saw corn dogs for sale for $5 and $10 each... I wonder what the difference was). Now, a few odd things. The doors open at 9AM and when we got there it was deserted. Literally, we walked through an empty carnival. Past food vendors that were closed, past rides that weren't always securely shut, past buildings that were locked tight. What was going on? It turns out that the rides and food open at 11AM but you can go early for... I dunno. Perhaps they open at 9AM so that the farm animal exhibitors can get an early start on judging. It was very eerie to walk through an abandoned carnival and it reminded me of a Scooby Doo episode. In sum, we had a good time trying out a new fair but I am not sure if we will be back. For those who enjoy the rides and go in the afternoon, you will probably have a blast.

They offer discounts on certain days to veterans and seniors; I don't remember who else. Every year less families volunteer to help out their communities. Please encourage your family to give back.

When coming to Cooperstown Escape Rooms…read moreyou might just find yourself trying to help out the Sultan of Swat as this is just one of the themed escapes taking place here. A bunch of fellas and I tested our mental fortitude recently when we were up in Cooperstown on a bachelor party weekend. Surprisingly, amongst a group of 8 guys, only myself and one other friend had ever done an escape room. I've "escaped" at several different Long Island-located businesses with each one being pretty well put together through setup, theming, and overall challenge. This definitely raised my curiosity as to how an out-of-area escape room would hold up, especially in a small place like Cooperstown. You honestly might not even know about Cooperstown Escape Rooms if you're not searching for or Yelping it. Only one little sign on the street (plus one other that you'll have to look up for) can be found. Enter the stairs on the side and head up to a little office-sized spot with a few doors to the different escape rooms available. Not all were baseball-themed, but the one we were completing had that aspect. Before starting, a few of us needed the bathroom so we stood around talking with the employee (probably owner) who was super chill and really friendly. He was thorough in his explanation of everything and didn't seem to leave any important parts out. Once we first stepped into the room, those aforementioned baseball aspects were everywhere. It was super awesome to see how this small room looked like a combination of a baseball dugout, lockers, grandstands, and a few other past time-themed pieces. Gloves, balls, and some old-timer items were used throughout the solving of the escape which made it that much more fun. Yeah, a few parts of the room looking a little worn, but it really didn't take away from the enjoyment. Plus when you end up getting out with 15 minutes to spare you all feel pretty good (that was us!). Overall, Cooperstown Escape Rooms was a great experience to have while in this baseball haven. When you're in a town that lives, breathes and bleeds baseball, it's nice to be able to take that aspect (plus a little cognitive challenge) and create a fun time that doesn't involve the hall of fame. Even if we did a room that wasn't baseball themed, the owner was cool enough to warrant a return trip. If/when I ever return to Cooperstown I'd definitely try my chance to escape once more...ya know now that we've saved Babe Ruth and all, haha.
