The Bar Nutrition opened on September 23, 2024. It's the second nutrition studio that Liz and…read moreAshley from North Country Nutrition (NCN) in Eagan have opened up. My plans changed on Saturday, thanks to a three-hour flight delay getting to the Twin Cities from Toronto. When I finally got into a rental vehicle at 1 pm, I decided to drive to West Saint Paul to check out this place. This nutrition studio is next to H&R Block in a huge plaza. I found a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. It occurred to me when I had parked and looked at the storefront that I have been here. It used to be Hangout Nutrition. I was trying to find a place to get healthy shakes and teas with no to low sugar in them back in November 2021. I tried a tea from Hangout Nutrition. It was okay, but it wasn't as yummy as what I get from ZeeV's Nutrition in Toronto. The Bar Nutrition has taken over the space that Hangout Nutrition once occupied. I was immediately greeted by Ashley. I got to meet Tony for the first time, who was working behind the bar with her. The space feels cozier and more welcoming. Ashley let me know that Liz made a lot of design changes. I liked them. Ashley was happy that I knew about Hangout Nutrition. She used to work at another business in this plaza, and would get shakes and teas from this place. She agreed that they weren't as yummy as those from NCN. The cool thing about this second location is that the menu is identical to the one at NCN. It makes things easier. I got the pineapple dreamer tea. It consists of pomegranate, raspberry, coconut, and pineapple flavours. It's essentially a pina colada with a pomegranate-raspberry twist. Tony made my tea. It was awesome. I loved it. Sadly, it's only available till September. I have never sat at any of their studios to enjoy a drink. I did on Saturday, mainly because I wanted to post a few stories on Instagram to help spread the word about this new location. There isn't any guest wifi at this studio yet. However, it's next to H&R Block that I used its guest wifi. I paid with a credit card. You can also order ahead using the Engage app. Sadly, it doesn't support credit cards with a Canadian billing address, so I can't use it. Even though my plans had changed getting down to the Twin Cities, visiting this new studio made my day. Congrats, Liz and Ashley! I had a great experience with my tea, and look forward to trying the shakes and getting more teas. (378)

Food: you get what you get there. Your base is a shot of aloe (my tummy loves this stuff), tea and a protein shake. There are definitely flavors I prefer more than others, but none are "bad". Atmosphere: definitely a fun place to hang out! Plenty of seating, some cozier than others, music and lots of people coming and going. I'd say for value you can't beat this! Contrary, the University area does not allow for a relaxing environment so this is a spot that I will forever grab and go. I appreciate what Life Juices is doing after revamping a run down Dairy Queen into a healthy storefront. Highlights include hand made items which take a little extra time so you know it's fresh, side patio with plants and small herb garden along with some colorful Adirondack chairs and unique items with a food menu in progress. Sadly, I had 1 homeless person ask me to buy items and it ruined the vibe. In addition, there were questionable activities happening while I awaited my order. Ordering is done on a kiosk with a vast array of choices from pressed juices to smoothie bowls to smoothies. I opted for a peanut butter protein shake with dates and it was so good! I also purchased 3 pressed juices. Each item is almost $10 and then there were $6 taxes? I thought food was tax free? Regardless, I'm finding out that eating healthy in general, is more expensive. I hope Life Juices is able to attract the population it wants as the area for me, is the wrong one but right product. I'll be back!
