I've been to several nutrition/supplement shops in San Diego & this location is by far thee best! Both the store owner, Egon, & his other employee (sorry completely drawing a blank on his name right now) have been very helpful when finding specific products. I feel like their supplements are reasonably priced and quality has been decent (in the past 2 years, I've only bought one preworkout that was clumpy - although I did find it on the discount rack). In addition, shoutout to Egon for always recommending the best tasting protein powders . Another bonus to this location is you're able to purchase Celsius by the case - mix n match flavors.(I've been to other shops that frown upon the mixing flavors ) Only neg is parking can be difficult - it's Downtown after all. read more

I've lived in San Diego for 12 years and have been coming to the Nutrimart locations since the beginning. I used to go to the East County location inside the mall, years ago. I believe the owners brother ran that location. I'll never forget the day he was explain the 'chelate formula' to me. Back in the beginning of the supplement company - Global Formulas. The super bio freak is great btw. It wasn't until recently I was able to personally meet Egon, the owner of the downtown location. He was very welcoming and informed as well as supportive for any questions I had. We shared a few stories back n forth about the changes in the industry and shook hands. I usually stop by here daily to grab The Meal Prep Co meals from the fridge. If you're looking for a fairly priced, supplement shop that won't twist your arm to upsell you - look no further. read more

Nutrimart - Vitamins & Supplements Near Me - San Diego, California

Purchased protein months ago once and will never purchase anything from here. The cashier said due to tariffs, prices are higher than what is posted. At the time, I needed it so I didn't care but I could order it online for way cheaper. The bottle was packed with dust so it sat on the shelf for a long time. Do better and you might get more business. read more

I placed an online order and the wrong item was received. I contacted the seller 3 times and they were completely unresponsive.

My bff dexter recommended me here. Im out of the area so i dont come as often to this specific location as i should and well i hit other Nutrimarts... However EGON was super helpful in recommending protein, pre work outs and fat burners when i came in and asked...So i left out of there with some supplements he had recommended due to my tolerances and experiences/ other supplements i had used AND damn they were good !!!! Real good !! at a very reasonable or better said inexpensive price compared to GNC and other places. THANKS EGON -Little Ricks read more

After doing what felt like hours of research, I decided on the supplements I would need to help me reach my remaining fitness goals, but not the exact brands. Since Nutrimart is close to my home, I decided to stop in and see the selection. Having everything written down in a notebook, but no specific brands in mind, I was glad to see the store had plenty of options displayed. Being a former employee of GNC, I knew somebody would be by soon to see if I needed help. It took me a second to realize an employee had actually approached me because not only did he approach the side I had my headphone in, but he was standing out of view. After asking if I needed any help, I explained, and showed him that I knew exactly what I was looking for and thanked him. Moving on to the next shelf, I was approached by another employee and asked what I needed. I tell her I'm good for the moment but if I need anything, I'll ask. Am I the only one that takes time to pick up bottles at a store to read the label? With nothing in my hands, I decide to just go with my usual protein & began to walk in the direction of it. Just as I eye it, I'm approached by a third employee who says, "Excuse me. Is there something I can help you with today? Do you know what you want?" "I was just going to grab some protein." "Well if you know which one, I'll just hand it to you because YOU can't be in here right now." "Excuse me? Why not?" "Because we're doing inventory and you're exactly where we need to be. So tell me what you want or come back in an hour, or even later, or..." Or don't. I totally filled in the blank for him. I didn't take the time to get the names of these employees because I don't want to know people like this. I myself work in the service industry DT and I hope I have never made a customer, fellow employee or anyone for that matter, feel as awful as the employees TRIED to make me feel here today. Maybe because I was in track pants with no makeup, my appearance looked less than Nutrimart worthy. Maybe they thought I didn't have any money, or maybe there was another reason in their minds to justify their rudeness. I got everything I needed from GNC, Jimbo's & Nutrition Zone. Shockingly enough, GNC was mid inventory when I arrived and both employees jumped at the opportunity to take a minute and not only respectfully offered to help, but clearly had no problem with me taking my time to browse. I was not run out like I was a burden. The supplements I got weren't cheap but I'm glad I spent the money at locations that were glad to have me as a customer, unlike Nutrimart. read more

SERVICE: Excellent service. Both employees asked me if I needed help, but they weren't annoying at all. Most places make you feel uncomfortable, not this place. They were sure to check on me, but left me to my shopping once they saw that I was good. PRICES: The total price of my purchase was fair, it was a little less than I expected actually. The only reason they got 4/5 stars was because there are absolutely no prices on any of the products. I probably would have been more apt to buy more products if I had known how much each thing was STOCK: This store has an insane amount of products. Wall to wall is stacked with a variety! Very diverse! BONUS: The cashier was very friendly and chill. He hooked me up with AWESOME free products to sample! He truly seemed interested in what I had to say. I love Nutrimart. Everyone is so happy and eager to help with any questions or concerns you might have. Nutrimart has an extensive selection of products and supplements, and the staff really take the time out to help you choose the right products to reach your goals. Nutrimart is truly a cut above the rest. I'll never go aywhere else, or order online again. I also would like to add an additional experience I had outside the store. I had some questions and concerns regarding some effects I was having from a supplement. As I have them "liked" on facebook, I took to the wall to ask for someone to contact me. Egon messaged me almost instantly. After explaining my background and what I was experiencing, and then after forming his own ideas of how to address my issues, he went to the manufacturer to get their advice as well, and in no time had gotten back to me again with recommended solutions. They of course worked, impeccable service, I couldn't be happier. read more

When packing for this trip I forgot one of my supplements. When I got here I was surprised and annoyed to discover this. When we were walking to dinner the first night we passed this store, but it was closed. We passed it again yesterday and determined to stop in today. We did that walking back from brunch. I was greeted and explained what I was looking for. He brought out two brands for me to choose from, one vegan and one not. I chose the second one and now I'll be set for this trip and beyond. It was very convenient. read more

This place is the best without a question or doubt. Great prices, Egan is very helpful and knowledgable and even when he's not there everyone is super nice. But honestly the only thing that matter is the products that they have there (which they have the very best) with the very best price you can find anywhere INCLUDING online. No joke. Big supporter of them. I work in Downtown SD and I go here everytime I need to fill up on protein or preworkouts. read more

This place is FANTASTIC! I've been working out for a long time now and had the intention of going in to buy some mass gainer and creatine. He steered me to a product that was actually a little bit cheaper than what I had intended to buy, AND explained the full benefits of why it was better than what I had originally planned to buy. Bottom line is that it's great to see a store looking out for their clients needs rather than steer them towards more expensive products. He also gave me a free trial scoop of a pre-workout supplement I had been asking about. As long as I live in SD, this is the only place I will buy my supplements from. read more

I have been a customer of Nutrimart for 11 years -- since 2002, a year after they moved to their present location. I have known the owner since 1994, when he sold his products at another location (for seven years). This is the one Nutrition store that I go to. It's not only the customer service, which is personable (all my inquiries answered), but Egan (and his staff) are knowledgeable. I've shopped at other nutrition shops and stores, and those outlets will either direct me to a catalog and herb manual, or give me a sales pitch. IF (and that's a big "if) Egan doesn't have an answer, he'll call a nutritionist. Those occasions are rare, but I still get my question answered. The prices at this store are lower or competitive with other stores (usually lower), and if they don't have an item, they will order it for me. If you check out the other reviews, you'll see the same compliments. Including the occasional freebie or sample which Egan will offer now and then. No matter how busy the store is, I have NEVER walked away unsatisfied. Egan treats each customer like the only customer he's got. I come here at least once a week. And when I leave my present employer, I will still come downtown to shop at Nutrimart. (Thankfully, there are 6-7 other locations, including Spring Valley (off the 94, Avocado exit in the Vons Shopping Center). I signed up with Yelp JUST to post this review. I was curious about the reviews for Nutrimart and was surprised to only find a handful. But I'm not surprised, however, to see that EVERYONE posted a 5-star review. read more

Love having Egon and the guys close by. I like going here because they are a locally owned small business. They really do have great prices and will special order hard to find stuff or pull it from their other stores if they can. They also really know their stuff to make recommendations when you have questions on nutrition as well as what supplements to take. Egan recommended a supplement that really helped me with tendon problem I've developed in my 40's. read more

I want to give a big thanks again to Egon and the SD Nutrimart team! Even though I'm out of town they never disappoint, I recently ordered through phone for my supplement stack the day before New Years.. Luckily I called right when Egon was closing shop due to holiday hours.. Once I told him my stack he already knew what I wanted and even mentioned about new flavors and still offered me a DEAL..No rush whatsoever.. He got my order down under a couple of minutes.. So today I requested to pick up the package since I missed the delivery attempt at noon.. Right when I walked into the UPS sorting facility, with boxes on top of boxes over the counter.. the first thing I spot is a big box with the brand labeled "MAGNUM NUTRACEUTICALS". Clearly knowing Nutrimart and their love for Magnum products for the high quality behind that brand, without a doubt I knew that had my name written all over it.. And when I approached the clerk I just showed him my ID and pointed directly at it with 100% confidence...JACKPOT, the clerk had a funny response, the customers in line on the other hand knew I struck gold and was getting curious when they saw the cool looking box .. I then walked out the facility holding my package with a big grin like a kid walking out of a strip club. and... oh yeah I picked up a lottery ticket on the way home. read more

Good selection but giving 2 stars because prices are expensive. I was looking for a specific thermogenic and I always Google Shop to compare online retailers and I asked the manager here if he could price match. I gave him the online site to prove the cost and that it wasn't a sale price or group price or anything like that and not only did he not budge on the price but didn't seem like he cared that their price was much higher than what could be easily purchased online for a significantly cheaper cost. read more

Great nutrition and supplement store. They have shakers that I can't find anywhere else. Tons of products and great staff and owners.

I stopped by today with a friend and ended up buying 5 pounds of whey isolate and a kilo of creatine. The employee there instantly marked down both items so it cost only 60 flat.
