The drain is still not fully clear--water backs up from one side of the sink to the other, and I usually have to run the garbage disposal just to get it to go down. Today, I called to schedule service for a leaking washing machine hookup and to have the kitchen drain looked at again. Nathan informed me it would be $350 just for the service call, before any work was even done. This amount for an appointment is exorbitant and disappointing, especially for a returning customer. Between the steep service call fees, the price increases from May to November, and the unsatisfactory work, I can only conclude that this company is price gouging. The final bill, however, was well over $2,000. I was not provided an estimate on site. Two technicians were sent, and it turned out that the billing was calculated at $185 **per person per hour**, including drive time that appeared longer than travel time at rush hour from their headquarters according to Google. After reviewing the invoice, I had to seek legal advice and confirmed through an independent witness that the technicians were on site for only a few hours. We ultimately reached a resolution after considerable back-and-forth. I would recommend asking for a written estimate and a clear explanation of hourly billing before authorizing work. Write down everything and do not proceed unless you have a written estimate you agree with.
