Number 68 is a ray of sunshine. We had a gorgeous weekend despite the weather, this delightful B&B could not have been more perfect.
The house is a large victorian villa five minutes from the centre of town. It is incredibly welcoming and light, the rooms have large windows, period details and to my delight there is even a slightly grumpy cat called Merlin.
There are only three bedrooms, each with a different theme. They are all charming, stylish and spotless. We stayed in the French room, complete with country toile wall paper, large brass bed and a gendarme's hat (I'm told it's really called a Kepi). Oh la la!
The breakfast was generous, very fresh and decent veggie options. Each table has pretty pots filled with homemade jam. The owner Michael was terribly helpful and attentive, giving us lots of judicious advice about local walks, pubs and places to eat. I'm not surprised one of the other couples staying there decided it was good place to get engaged. If I could give Number 68 six stars I would. read more
