The courtyard was beautiful for both our ceremony and reception, and many of our guests told us it was one of the nicest and most enjoyable weddings they had attended in quite a while. The venue offers many services and vendor options, but we also appreciated being able to bring in some of our own. We used our own food vendor, and everything went smoothly. We also had a friend's small band play throughout the day and up through our first dance before transitioning to the house DJ for the rest of the evening. The venue staff were quick and efficient with the table arrangements, setup adjustments, and cleanup. It helps to stay organized and have a few dependable friends or family members available to help, but we understood that from the beginning and were very happy with how everything came together. Gayle was wonderful throughout the entire process. We had originally planned to get married there before COVID but did not end up having our wedding until afterward. Even after all that time, she had kept our records and helped us pick everything back up. She was always kind, patient, and accommodating. She encouraged us to communicate through email so any reminders, changes, or additions could be documented, and that worked very well for us. Gayle is the venue coordinator rather than a full-service wedding planner, but she still helps with a great deal during the planning process and on the wedding day. We found her presence helpful and never intrusive or hovering. She was attentive, available whenever something needed to be handled, and helped keep our anxiety under control. The house DJ did a good job for what we needed. Providing a clear playlist and specific instructions ahead of time helped, and the transition from the band to the DJ went smoothly. The announcements were fairly minimal, but that was not a major issue for us. We are very thankful to Gayle and everyone at Dove Canyon Courtyard for helping make our wedding such a beautiful and memorable day.

The birdie goal at every Irvine course has been achieved. The course is beautiful, with a challenging layout. The fairways and greens are well-maintained. Located in Rancho Santa Margarita, it's a 22-minute drive without traffic. Overall, the course is very good . The blue tees are 6618 yards long, and the red tees are 4950 yards. The front nine is flat with many artificial landscaping and water hazards. The back nine features canyons, natural landscapes, and a significant "two-nine" layout. The front nine is more challenging. The back nine has many canyons and natural vegetation, including many old sycamores, oak trees, and giant cacti, creating a beautiful natural landscape. The only problem is that the secondary rough areas along the fairways are too large and dense. With the fall and winter leaves, finding the ball is very difficult. Several of my teammates' shots landed right there. I just couldn't find it. The course restaurant is pretty good though. Overall, the course quality is similar to Tustin, but closer to nature. Normal, nothing special.

The rough on some holes was so thick and long that is was impossible to find a ball that was five yeards from the fairway and yet on some holes the "rough" was nothing more than dirt with a few patches of grass/weeds. The greens were pretty much destroyed, with unrepaired ball marks, lumps and bumps, and on several holes, weeds growing all over the greens. One of the comments made in our group was this course was worse than a bad Muni course. Absolutely will not be coming back. There are many other courses in Orange County to play instead.

The person who greeted us immediately said, "Oh, finally you guys are here," which was an unnecessary and rude way to speak to paying customers who had a scheduled tee time. Then, when we went to check in, he told us that he didn't see any reservation for us and continued insisting that our tee time wasn't there, even though we knew we had booked it. Once he actually clicked on the 5:30 time slot, our reservation suddenly appeared. Instead of simply checking properly from the beginning, it felt like he was trying to convince us that we were wrong and didn't have a reservation. It didn't stop there. Before we had even teed off on the first hole, a couple of teenage employees drove by in a golf cart and told us, "Make sure you have the golf carts in by 7 PM." Our tee time was at 5:30 PM, and the course doesn't close until 8 PM. We had barely even started playing and already felt like employees were rushing us to leave. For a group paying around $100 to play golf, this was extremely disappointing. We came to enjoy an afternoon of golf, not to feel unwelcome, rushed, or like we were inconveniencing the employees simply by being there. If the course offers a 5:30 PM tee time, customers booking that time should be treated with the same respect as anyone else and should be clearly informed of any cart-return restrictions before paying. The course itself may be enjoyable, but the customer service during our visit seriously took away from the experience. We definitely expected better treatment for what we paid.

I found this venue by chance while searching for a…read morereception venue that would allow outside catering at a reasonable price--which was much harder to find than I expected. The round tables were also perfect for our 8-course Chinese banquet reception. Angela, the venue coordinator, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was quick to respond to all of our questions and was incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout the planning process. Angela also recommended Marcus Hopper, a bartender who frequently works weddings at Coto Valley. Marcus was an amazing bartender for our wedding, and we couldn't be more grateful for the recommendation! The BYO option at this venue also makes it incredibly customizable and budget friendly. Angela even helped us source a few servers to bus tables during cocktail hour and dinner, which was incredibly helpful. The grounds are naturally beautiful, and we took the majority of our wedding photos there even though our ceremony was held at a separate church. The greenery, gazebo area, and open expanses of grass were exactly what I was looking for in our photos. Another huge bonus is the closet full of decor that couples are free to use. This was so helpful and also a great way to reduce waste. We were able to use decor from the venue for our table numbers and seating chart window pane. The ballroom was perfect for our guest count of around 170, with plenty of room for a dance floor. Almost the entire ballroom is lined with windows, which brings in so much beautiful natural light. We are so happy we found Coto Valley Country Club for our reception! It checked so many of the boxes we were looking for, and Angela made the entire planning experience so much easier. We would absolutely recommend Coto Valley to couples looking for a beautiful wedding venue!

If I could give this venue and its incredible staff 10 stars, I absolutely would!…read more My husband and I discovered Coto Valley Country Club while searching for a new wedding venue for our daughter and her fiancé, who live out of state. Their original booked venue dropped them without consideration after his military schedule changed, leaving us without the deposit and with just a month and a half to recreate their wedding plans. To say we were stressed would be an understatement. Then I called Coto Valley Country Club, and Angela welcomed us with open arms. From our very first conversation, she was incredibly understanding of our situation and the extremely tight timeline we were facing. She immediately put us at ease and made us feel like we were in good hands. Angela went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of, including the things we had planned and the many things we hadn't even thought about. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and especially her calm and reassuring demeanor made what could have been an overwhelming experience truly enjoyable--from the very beginning all the way through the wedding day, and even the day after. And the result? Absolutely breathtaking!!! The wedding was everything our daughter and her fiancé envisioned and more. The natural beauty of the property alone makes Coto Valley Country Club one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Orange County--and trust me, we visited many. But what truly sets it apart is the people behind it. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the wedding for weeks afterward. They commented on how beautiful every detail was, how personalized and thoughtfully everything was handled, and how every vendor was truly a 10 out of 10. As a mother, being able to help create such a beautiful and memorable wedding for my daughter meant everything to me. What started as a stressful situation with an impossible timeline turned into one of the most special experiences we could have asked for. A heartfelt thank you to Angela and the entire Coto Valley Country Club team for making our daughter's wedding so beautiful, seamless, and unforgettable. We will always be grateful--and we would recommend this venue without hesitation to anyone looking for the perfect place to celebrate their special day!

Communication leading up to our wedding was consistently poor. Emails and messages often went unanswered for days, which created a lot of unnecessary anxiety during an already stressful time. During our final walkthrough, Ciara reassured us that we would not be rushed to remove our belongings after the wedding and could even return Monday or Tuesday. She specifically shared that she had been rushed after her own wedding at this venue and did not want to do that to us. Unfortunately, the day after our wedding, that is exactly what happened. Our vendor arrived during the 12-2 p.m. pickup window we were given, only to find the venue locked. After multiple unanswered calls and texts, Ciara arrived nearly an hour later, resulting in our vendor charging us for the wait. At that same time, we were suddenly told all of our belongings needed to be removed that day, giving us essentially an hour to figure it out; completely contradicting what we had been told during our final walkthrough. Our wedding itself was wonderful, but the lack of communication and follow-through caused so much unnecessary stress before and immediately after it. As beautiful as the space is, based on our experience with management, we would not host another event here or recommend it to friends or family.
