I stayed here with my wife in July of 2016.
The rooms were modern. We brought converters for US products, however they were not needed in this hotel as the outlets were compatible with both US and European. Most beds we have had in Spain have been two twin beds pushed together. This bed was actually a queen sized mattress.
On the flip side, the walls were VERY thing and you can hear everything outside (our room was facing the plaza where the hotel entry is located). We could also hear our neighbors tv, kids screaming and crying and even their conversations. The doors also slam very loud. Also, the door tags that you put on the door handle indicating whether or not you want your room cleaned means nothing, apparently. We put the "do not disturb" sign up and came back to a clean room. This may not necessarily be a bad thing but we had things scattered everywhere and did not want someone coming into our room while we were gone.
Breakfast at the hotel was average compared to other hotels we have stayed at here in Spain. They have your typical selection of hot and cold food, espresso machine, and pastries.
As a tourist, I would say the location is sub par. It is walking distance to a park, a department store "el Cortes ingles", the Barclays center, and a few restaurants. It is probably about 2 miles away from the city center. One redeeming quality about the location is it located by Line 2 Goya stop (still about a 5-10 walk to the stop), which will get you to the city center.
Overall, not a terrible hotel but not a great one either. If I was in Madrid again, I would probably choose a different hotel closer to the city center. read more
