The hotel is very stylish and nice - but please avoid the restaurant. Only few tables were taken on a friday night - and the food tasted like micro wave food. I could not see any happy faces among the few people there. My wife had a Potato-Brokoli Gratin - with absolutely no cheese, my chicken involtini were nice, but the pasta was Luke warm - and tasted like micro wave food. A shame really, as the menu was really promising. I really thanked to God that I did not pick the "Schweinshaxe" - one of my favourites, as the guy on the next table returned it after few bites. Novotel that lives up to the expectations one might have of this chain. Parts of the neighbourhood are quite nice, like the Moltkeplatz. In the lobby, they've installed a kids' corner with an Xbox360 and an interactive table with games. read more

I booked and prepaid for two rooms for four nights. Arrived to find the temp in the room around 90F. When the AC seemed to be having no effect I called down only to find out there is no AC at all, they have a "air cooling system not air conditioning". Ie no compressor, essentially just a fan. Note that their website clearly states "air conditioned rooms" (I uploaded that screenshot to my CC company for the chargeback). They told me given the outside temperature the room was a reasonable temperature and offered to switch my room (note that no rooms have AC). I felt there was no option but to move to a hotel that actually had air conditioning. I was told to call the next day and speak with the GM, upon calling I was told I had to speak to someone in reservations before I would be allowed to speak to the GM. A person named Bert came on the line (he did not identify himself as the GM or give me his last name but I believe he is/was the GM) and he told me their system was working properly so they would not offer any form of refund for any of the eight total nights (I didn't even stay a single night). He mentioned possibly a 5% discount but in the same breath said he wouldn't be able to offer that because their system was operational. I explained that their very own website says "air conditioned rooms" but in fact they are not - he offered nothing and no sympathy. I'll let them work it out with my CC company.
