Relying on a recommendation from the kind lady handling the booking at our hotel in Launceston, we relinquished control and wandered in to Frank's hoping that it would satisfy our wish for comforting Italian food with a relaxed environment. Well, it did exactly that! We were quite satisfied with every single aspect of the meal. The friendly family owned vibes, the attentiveness of the wait staff, the recommendations on how to order and accommodations on what we did order, the timeliness that the food was delivered and the quality (and value) of the food and the wine are just a few of the things we took note of. I've been to some pretty incredible Italian restaurants in my day and had some out of this world homemade Italian cuisine and this place held it's own and delivered in the way it's supposed to. We were going to order pizza but as the pasta dishes kept passing by our minds quickly changed. We ordered Lasagna with meat sauce and Bolognese with fettuccine. Had to ask for spaghetti to be changed to fettuccine and since it was early and they weren't totally slammed the chef said ok. What a treat. The food arrived and we could have easily shared one of the dishes. Both dishes were beautiful and the tastes could not have been better. The lasagna was maybe the best we have ever had. And the bolognese awesome. But it was the homemade pasta that made us think so highly of La Cantina. Needless to say we did not have enough room for dessert. Prices are fair considering you get a well topped pizza. The amount of grease you see on the pizza box is kind of expected but I have had a friend say it was way too greasy but I think he forgets its takeaway pizza not a restaurant pizza in Italy or something. Staff are a bit quiet on the phone, but maybe they are just unaware their phones mic is quiet so I don't know. Their delivery range leaves a bit to be desired as I live in Blackstone Heights and they won't deliver that far, but will deliver to the casino. I mean Dominos does it so I'm sure you could squeeze it in. Very nice anyway
