Bizarre experience. My dad went in for flu/covid/strep tests as he had been sick for over a week. The Dr. was showing an extreme amount of cleavage, kept flitting her hair back, and spoke as if she were explaining life lessons to kindergardeners- that if you're retired you have plenty of time to take care of yourself, wash your linens, wash your hands, etc. Yeah....and you can still get sick, ya clown. She had him open his mouth and then didnt even look in. It was comical. Her followup phone call complete with "darling" and "hon" and all that was as unprofessional as the cleavage. Leave it at home lady... Other than that, receptionist was fine, area was clean. Nurse who cleaned ears was lovely. We were first ones there so no wait. read more

Just moved to the area and haven't found a doctor yet. So unfortunately had to come here. I will start by saying I think I got an unfair shake. Even though the facility is clean and the doctors were nice I still don't think I will chance coming back here again. Too many other options in the area that'll try first. My story goes . . . I showed up at 7:45 and there was already 3 people in line. Before they opened at 8am there was 4 more people behind me waiting in line. I got a faulty iPad for checkin and the receptionist forgot to take my license and insurance card. One or both caused me to lose my place in line. By the time I was called, everyone waiting when they opened including all 4 people after me AND two people who were not even in line at opening had been called. Yes there is a sign that says patience can be called out of order for visits that do not involve a doctor but at least two that came after me needed to be tested for strep & I assume that would require a doctor. So I know for sure my place in line was lost. read more

We got here at 10:30. Checked in. Got called to the back and got into a waiting room at 11. It is now 1:15 and we have only seen the nurse once for her to peek her head in and say we were next at 12:35. I had to literally open the door and stand there until the nurse came back and said " she must've got caught up with a patient. I know you're next." Great place. In town for just a few days. Wife got an earache which they diagnosed quickly and we were on our way. Fast check-in. The doctor was patient, asked the right questions, and we even asked her for some dinner recommendations. Nice place to go for urgent care. These can be hit or miss, and we definitely got a hit. read more

I wait 2 hours. I came out of my exam room to ask how much longer. The doctor Cindy Martinez came out and went off on me. She called me rude and disrespectful. She tried to tell me I only had been waiting 50 minutes which wasn't true. Then went on to complain about how she works 14 hour work days. She was nasty and unprofessional. She's the one who is rude and disrespectful. I could have done with the 2 hour wait, but not being gone off on for asking simple questions after waiting 2 hours. My husband had really bad gout. Called to make sure it was okay to come in at 7:06. He was in the waiting room at 7:27 and had his paperwork done at 7:37. But because he wasn't "checked in" yet by the front desk when 8pm came they told him he couldn't be seen. Look I get it you want to go home. But if someone is in your waiting room WAITING on YOU then respect their time as well. The plot thickens. Today we get a call at 8am asking us to take our yelp review down! Not even come in we will get you in first thing this morning. What a joke. read more

I checked in online as their website recommended at 9:40 this morning and I received a text that I would be unable to be seen until 12:30. I called their office regarding the appointment time and they told me to come into the office so that I could be seen sooner. I rush to their clinic with much on my plate for today looking to knock this ear cleaning out. Unfortunately I proceeded to sit and wait in their office for over 2 hours and did not manage to leave until over 4 hours after I checked in. To advise me to come in and then for me to wait that long is disrespectful to me and my time. If you are someone who cares about their time I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND!! read more

i've been here several times over the past couple of years and received great timely care. This time the wait in the room is ridiculous. Over an hour plus the hour plus before I was taken to a room. I even signed up online and still had a long wait. i don't know if they are short staffed or what but I expect an honest answer when told how long the wait will be. I WILL NOT BE BACK! read more

Doctor's Care Surfside and Richard Offenback (PA) were fabulous. We were vacationing and thought my daughter may have broken a big toe. He x-rayed it, checked everything out, and had a terrific bedside manner through all of it. We didn't wait long to see him. I highly recommend if you're visiting and have any medical need not requiring a emergency room. read more

Woman at front desk with red hair doesn't seem as friendly to ALL customers as she is with those who look like her (and I don't "look" like her. First of all, the little snot at the desk needs to lose her attitude. Other than that, I went online looking for free covid testing. You know, be responsible and "slow the spread". I tried to check in online and it told me I couldn't, so to call them. I got the recording that states that covid testing is covered by insurance with symptoms or exposure. Since I found out I was in close contact earlier in the week with someone who just found out they tested positive (yes, vaccinated), I wanted to be sure I didn't need to isolate if I was also positive. Well little snot informed me that it was going to be $150. $150??? I let her know their recording states something quite different. She said it had changed a week ago and now it's $150 for any kind of test. I'll find somewhere else to go but this to me is ridiculous. And update your damn recordings and website! read more

Note to self: Doctor's Care in Surfside Beach is the absolute WORST place to go. Ended up walking out because 3 people who came in AFTER me, were called to the back. I can put up with the unpleasant receptionist but left sitting there for over an hour while people after me were called back? No thanks. read more

Was there 3/8. Ears had to be irragated. Have narrow ear canal, this has to be done yearly. The folks out front at desk, nurse doing vitals were wonderful. PA who saw me was also pleasant and professional. Nurse who irragated my ears was very gruff, rough and very unprofessional. After she irragated my ears she said she could see my ear drums and ears were unblocked. When PA came back in to check the ears she said I had an infection in the left ear and prescribed drops. She also said she could see my ear drum, so that constituted ears being clear and unblocked. I could tell they were not, and again was told "I can see your ear drum." I used the drops as prescribed for seven days, twice a day. Infection could be gone as ear is not painful, but it is still blocked. We are on vacation and still here for 10 more day's and having a blocked ear is uncomfortable. I called to ask, since pharmacy gave two bottles of drops and I have a bottle unopened if I should continue the drops. Waiting for a call back from PA. read more

The waiting room was disgusting. There were dirty tissues everywhere and no trash cans. The front desk workers would barely talk to me when I had questions and wouldn't tell me any wait times... just "soon" for hours. People were walking out after 2+ hours. I didn't because I had to pay my co-pay upfront... which I realize is why they do that. Then once I was triaged, the nurse forgot to actually write down my vitals, and they had to triage me again. On the second triage attempt, the machine was broken. She had to take my blood pressure 4 times and still couldn't get the machine to read it. Then when she finally did it by hand, of course my blood pressure is up from being squeezed for 20 minutes and frustrated, and then she scolded me about how high it was (it was still in the normal range, even!). When the doctor came in, he did not wash his hands or wear gloves, but he did touch my skin and do an exam. I really hope he washed his hands sometime but there were not even hand sanitizers in sight. He gave me a prescription but no one gave me any discharge papers with a diagnosis or any information about why he was prescribing medication. I was a tourist to Myrtle Beach and this was the only urgent care on my insurance. But I would rather pay a higher bill at the ER next time than wait through this again. read more

Your employees could use some customer service training! Your service model needs some work too! I came in for some basic blood work and waited an hour as other people came and went! I was told that you don't take appointments but apparently people who have been there before get to go first! When I went in to find out how much longer it would be the girls at the desk were chatting and one rolled her eyes at me. She said she only had 2 providers and I explained that I was getting blood work so won't even need to see a doctor but she just rolled her eyes at me again so I left! I had to fast for this blood work and your employees didn't seem to care about that at all! There are so many other options for care around here so I won't be coming back! read more

Woke up with a broken blood vessel in one eye. Stopped in to make sure it wasn't something more or to be really concerned about. I was told that the wait could be one to two hours and to fill out the paperwork in my car (due to Covid) and wait for a text to come back in. Wait was less than an hour and I was very pleased with the care from the on duty P.A. and supporting staff. My wife has been here and her visit was good too and she recommended that I go see the care givers here. I recommend Doctors Care and would return if needed. read more

I came here after becoming ill while on vacation -woke up with a sore throat, fatigue, fever, and chills. I was in and out of there in about 40 minutes. The doctor didn't even wait for the rapid strep to come back (it's often negative this early in the illness) and treated me for strep based on having all the classic symptoms. The staff was friendly and professional and actually cared about the patients. I highly recommend this office! read more

My husband cut his arm badly and after cleaning and bandaging it, we spent an hour trying to find care in Pawleys Island. None of the "urgent cares" are open on Saturday. Gwen Strickland, the PA who stitched him up at Doctors Care in Surfside, did a neat, painless and thorough job! She explained everything clearly, and was very friendly, as was everyone with whom we came in contact. So thankful for this true urgent care. We would still be waiting at the hospital. I had an outstanding experience with the doctors, nurses, staff and facilities at Doctors Care in Surfside Beach. This was a tremondous relief because I was anxious and in a lot of pain when I first arrived. Although the waiting room was full, my wait was no more than 20 minutes. The staff kept patients moving in an organized way. The doctor took his time though, listening and diagnosing my symptoms. After a week of antibiotics I am feeling fine. I highly recommend Doctors Care in Surfside Beach! read more

And the young white girl and the older black lady in the office are rude and seems like they would rather spit in your face than help you. I would give Doctors Care of Surfiside Beach 5 stars based on the care of the Doctor and the friendliness of the staff. However, they are extremely quick in turning you over to a collection agency even when the bill has been paid. It has been a hassle trying to get it straight and their billing department has you on hold for over 15 mins and holding. Would not go here again because of the aggravation of dealing with a paid bill. read more

At a time when COVID-19 is rampant I was desperately looking for anywhere that would see me for a very sore throat. Forced to do an online visit. I was prescribed amoxicillin sight unseen for tonsillitis. Did not work. Was then allowed office visit. No culture was done. Given Augmentin instead. After 10 days was getting worse. Forced into another online visit, given 7 more days of Augmentin. Got even worse by next day. Went for office visit. Was told they're too afraid to do any cultures anymore & go wait in my car. Dr called from inside & said all he could do was prescribe throat spray & to continue the Augmentin that I said wasn't working. Refused to even look in my mouth. By next morning I was so very sick I ended up in hospital emergency room. Got immediate IV, meds to reduce swelling ASAP, bloodwork, CT scan & different type of antibiotic. Staff was appalled at how I had been treated by Doctors Care the night before. Had I waited any longer & continued to follow their directions I would have been gravely ill & probably not able to write this review. I was much worse off going to Doctors Care who were too afraid to examine a tonsillitis patient with no fever or any sign of COVID-19 at all & treat me appropriately. Shameful!! read more

Very friendly and great service. Had to make a visit for swimmers ear and they took good care of my son.

I called ahead to find out how much the cost would be to have my ears flushed and was told $125 which I paid when I received the services. A week later I got a bill for an additional $95.00. I found the experience to be very deceptive and will seek a new doctor now. read more

Absolute JOKE. I came to have some titers done for school requirements on a Sunday morning, I was here promptly at 8:05. Not only did that take 2 hours because of confusion on their behalf but when they did call me to tell me the results had come in (which is about the only nice thing I can say they did) I called back to thank them and let them know I would be coming in shortly to pick them up. After only needing the printed results and a signature I ended up waiting for over 30 minutes. There is nothing urgent about this facility and I can't imagine why anyone would hold this as their primary care office. Also they're not the nicest at the front desk. read more

Having recently moved to the area from another state, I had not yet established a Primary Care Physician. I was seen for the first time on 4/6/16 with an acute Upper Respiratory Bacterial infection. I waited for at least 40 minutes and saw the Doctor for no more than 10 minutes. I was sent home with an antibiotic and a $40.00 cough medicine that my insurance did not cover! Feeling as bad today as I did 7 days ago, I called their office. I explained how I was feeling and that I could not get a New Patient appointment with my new Primary Care Physician until next Tuesday 4/19/16. I asked if they could please phone in a different antibiotic, as I clearly didn't have a positive result from the one that I have been on for 7 days. I received a very rude, return phone call explaining that "the Doctor just doesn't do that", "you'll have to come back in if you want something else"!! I again tried to explain that I have an appointment in 4/19/16 and that I was very concerned with my symptoms until then. The female representative said "well there's nothing I can do for you, have a good night" and ended the call! What ever happened to "bedside manner" and responsible, caring patient care?? read more
