Our floors are engineered pecan. The actual wood measures about a quarter inch. Because of this, the work was challenging. Randall explained his entire process to us before the work began. He and Mickey paid attention to every detail from start to finish. Plastic was put up around the sanding areas to limit the dust getting into other parts of the house. A special vacuum was used during the sanding process to keep the area as dust-free as possible. Then the floors were coated twice with a low luster, water-based product and we love the finish better than the shiny floor we had prior. The finished floors are beautiful and make the whole house look like new. I highly recommend Kevin Smith Flooring to refinish your hardwood floors. One of the reasons we chose this company is because floors are all they do. They are knowledgeable about everything hardwood floors. Their work is high quality with reasonable pricing. I contacted Perma Ceram for an estimate to re-do our upstairs bathroom tub and tile. Stan contacted…read moreme and arranged an appointment within a few days. He came out looked at our bathroom, then proceeded to explain all the options he considered best, for what we wanted done. He provided a photo portfolio of before and after jobs the company had done. Explaining how they did each job, what worked well for each individual job. Two days later he sent us an estimate, which was about $400 less than another company we contacted previously. We accepted the estimate and scheduled the job. Stan told us the name of the person who would be coming out, and that the job would take two days. We then began prepping the bathroom by removing everything, as we would be replacing the toilet, the vanity and sink, as well as opening up the wall where the original medicine cabinet we purchased would be going. We kept in touch with Stan throughout this process. Little changes were made and Stan had no issues with them, nor did the estimate change. We chose Kohler White for the tub and tiled. Stan recommended we replace the two corner shelves in the bathtub, which they did so with slightly larger ones. Jarrod came out promptly on the time stated. He began prepping the room, for the least amount of dust or debris that might occur. Jarrod did an excellent job on reglazing the bathtub and tiles. It is an immaculate finish. Turning an older tub into looking brand new. Turning older tiles into a beautiful white color. We had very little, if at all, clean up to do when he was finished on day two. We consider the value to be excellent for the job. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to get your tub reglazed or your tiles.

For $13,000, we have watched one of the hanging bar cabinets come off the wall unexpectedly and crash to the ground... in pieces. Now, we have our 8.5 foot barn beam mantle detaching from the wall. As we have taken the mantle down due to safety, we found this heavy, 8.5 foot barn beam was pushed into the wall with only three, half-inch, lag bolts and no epoxy used. Please be sure to do your research carefully before even thinking of hiring this company. We have never received an apology, but we're told when the bar cabinet came crashing down, " These types of accidents happen in this line of work." No, no they don't! Especially not twice!

I bought this house 12 years ago now knowing the condition of the floors under the carpet. A large section of pine flooring in an upstairs bedroom had been replaced with plywood and was raised higher than the original floor. Outside the door to that room the floor was cracked broken and buckled. I had two contractors out and one decided he couldn't repair it and the other was so astronomically priced it was out of my abilities. Marlin came in and looked at it and declared he could fix it however it may not be perfectly level depending on what he found after taking out the plywood and broken flooring. His price was very very very reasonable so we booked. Wow! 6 days later I have a beautiful level floor! I also had him sand and finish the old connecting floor in the bedroom and the landing. It is such a relief to see a whole floor! I want to add that he works relentlessly and took care to make sure the job was dust and odor free the entire time he was there. He is a brilliant and amazing contractor that I highly recommend. He will be coming back to do the other two bedrooms and I am looking forward to my second floor being so beautiful I'll want to live up there! Don't hesitate to give him a call for your floors. I promise you won't be disappointed.

***editing my review because the owner of the company seems intent on NOT taking responsibility for…read moretheir failure. We followed every instruction on the "leave behind" sheet. We did not put hot objects directly on the counter or leave liquid for extended periods of time (more than 2 minutes). We followed the cleaning instructions carefully (only cleaning with soap and water). Still, the sealant failed within 3 weeks and when we alerted them of this, they wanted to charge us money to have the counters redone. It doesn't make sense to use a kitchen sealer than cannot handle a few minutes of water without staining, and then to do it a second time makes less sense. Additionally, if a company does not deliver results, it should not be up to the customer to give them more money when they can't even trust that it will not fail the second time around. In fact, I think the sealant they used made our counters WORSE as we lived at our house for a year and a half, and the stains did not appear as quickly as they did with this new sealer. Also, it's very telling of a company that tries to make excuses instead of working with the costumer to fix their mistake. Extremely disappointed with the work and the response. This is not a trustworthy company as they actually made our countertops worse and are now refusing to fix the issues. We hired this company to refinish and reseal our concrete kitchen countertops. Within three weeks, white rings began appearing underneath ordinary drinking glasses after they had been sitting on the countertop for only a few minutes. When we contacted the company, we were told that this was essentially our fault. The rings were "etching" because we hadn't properly followed instructions. They then told us that the countertops would need to be rehoned and resealed at our expense. We followed the care instructions we were given, including cleaning with soap and water. At no point were we clearly told that normal use of a kitchen counter (I.e. such as placing a glass of water on the countertop) could cause visible damage, or that coasters would essentially be required every time we placed down a drinking glass. Had we been given that information beforehand, we would not have proceeded with the refinishing. What is especially unacceptable is that the company told us the proposed restoration would involve the same process and same type of sealer, while simultaneously telling us we would need to use coasters and prevent liquids from sitting on the surface to avoid the same issue happening again. We understand that concrete is porous and that no sealer is perfect, but a newly refinished kitchen countertop developing visible rings from ordinary use within three weeks is not what we reasonably expected when paying for professional refinishing. We are extremely disappointed with both the work and the company's response. Rather than standing behind the service, the company ultimately maintained that the work was completed properly and that correcting the issue would be our financial responsibility. I cannot recommend this company. If you are considering hiring them, ask very specific questions about how the finished surface can be used and get every limitation and expectation in writing before you pay for the work.
