In looking for somewhere to throw a small and low-key bachelorette party for my aunt, I stumbled across this place. I thought the idea of a perfume-making party was so incredibly cool, and I was especially surprised and impressed that there was somewhere like this in Scranton! We got a good deal on a Groupon. Heads up- if you go this route, you'll want to make sure that you actually have the app installed on your phone and don't just print out the tickets. The space is so lovely and grand. The shop has shelves full of designer perfumes and homemade candles, as well as high-end gifts from boutique artisans. The perfume bar is set up at the front. When we arrived, our table was already set up with handouts and bottles of scented oils. Our guide did talk a little fast, but the concept itself is easy enough to understand. You build a blend of base notes, middle notes, and top notes. Each vial of scents is clearly marked with what kind of note it is and what scent family. You build your perfume by dipping a paper blotter into the vials, and then stacking the papers into a holder and wafting the scents. The staff was so helpful in making suggestions. It was so incredibly cool to mix and match scents and note how the perfume changes buy switching out elements. For the experience you get up to two hours to build your blend, but I think we were done in about an hour from start to finish, including when the staff finished blending the perfume behind the bar. While you wait for your perfume to get completed you can browse the shop- there's plenty to catch your eye! One of the coolest parts of this class is that the store will record your special blend in their system so if you want to reorder it in the future you can! I may eventually take advantage of that perk because I really love my blend and have been wearing it ever since! They offer shipping too so you can reorder even if you're far away. I'd definitely recommend this class if you find yourself in the area! It's such a neat and unique experience. You get to learn about perfume, have a fun experience, make a one-of-a-kind signature scent, plus you get to take a fancy perfume home with you! Definitely worth checking out. And, even if you don't have time for the full experience, this shop is so gorgeous that I highly recommend popping in and getting a gift or two! read more

This place was so cool! My sister and I spontaneously popped in here with our grandma to have a girls day. We each made a custom fragrance and walked away with a unique product we all loved. The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend to anyone for a special occasion or just for a fun spontaneous outing like we had! The atmosphere is so cute and they have plenty more products to purchase than just fragrances. Also the "note card" is a free perk to making your custom fragrance, allowing you to save your creation and reorder it if you ever run out! Highly recommend!! I'm visiting from Seattle and happened to pop in right before closing on Friday. I loved the concept and was hoping I could just come back the next day to "discover my scent journey". Unfortunately, Mark told me they were completely booked but told me to leave my name and number just in case. And I'm so glad I did because Mark was able to rearrange some appointments so I could come in! The experience was tons of fun and very educational. I came in with a friend and we smelled every essential and fragrance oil they had. After about 45 minutes, we pared it down to 7 (recommended is 3-7 notes). I ended up purchasing the smaller 1 oz bottle for $48. It was so much fun, way less expensive than I thought it would be and I got a beautiful custom scent! Time and money well spent. If your looking for a unique gift for yourself or anyone who appreciates smelling good - then you need to make a point of visiting NOTE! They sell high quality perfumes, candles, soaps, lotions etc... I can go on about their products but until you smell for yourself they're just words. Oh and you can also create your own scent. Took my teenage daughter and her friend here while visiting a college. Wow! We had such a great time. I made a perfume about a month or so ago. I just started using it this week and OMG I'm obsessed!! I literally want to swim in it. I keep getting a whiff of it and I'm like "this smells so good"!!! I had a great time here tonight making my own perfume! I walked in not knowing what the store sold, and was quickly given a tour of the place. They have a few great premade perfumes I case you don't want to make your own. But I thought why not give it a try! I sat down at the perfume bar which comprised of about 50 or so fragrance oils. At first it was a little intimidating, because I was worried that I would make a gross smelling scent, but to my surprise most combinations smelled good together. The different categories of scents were explained to me. I ended up taking my time and ended up smelling almost all of them. Who knew what frankincense and myrrh smelled like?! I finally chose 4 oils for my perfume and it was mixed in a little perfume bottle. I chose the smallest size (the have 3 sizes) to test out my fragrance. They also keep your scent on file so you can reference it if you come back for more. I worked with Lisa who was super helpful and gave nice recommendations. She also stayed late past closing time because I had to smell every scent before finalizing my perfume. read more
