It's an intimate small group--usually around 10 folks per session and a great facilitator! The class kicks off when a group-wide check in where everyone shares any updates, or burning desires/cravings followed by a short video lecture or hand out/worksheet on a psychology-adjacent topic as it relates to self perception, depression and anxiety, relationship dynamics and handling past trauma--the class is from 6-730p and sometimes gets done early! They close out at 715ish and have everyone share a little brief recap of what they took away from the lecture/instruction and weekend plans One of the best in the state and does accept OHP and medicaid and has openings. The intensive outpatient is twice a week for 12 weeks - an autobiography is required to share, participation in 25 AA meetings or adjacent type meetings and a peer mentor/sponsor for graduation as well as a once a week check in with a lifestance addictions counselor to check in where you at with your goals all in all a great experience good luck folks

When I called them about it they were like "yeah we cancelled it. Not sure why . . . " and offered NO ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER. I then asked to speak to the person who scheduled the appt only to be told they were unavailable. Then within minutes I get call from an unknown number and it's the person who was supposedly unavailable. All this after they had formerly messed up setting me up with a new therapist and I had to go 5 weeks with nobody to talk with. This is mental health treatment but it felt like mental health torture.

I would like to leave a review for Robin Steger. I was really impressed what an amazing and caring…read morecounselor Robin is. The curriculum Western Psychological follows is an excellect one they follow. You will leave with a tool box of tools you can use after graduation. Robin has a way to encourage clients to participate which allows them to think and remember what is being taught. I highly recommend Western Psychological for your counseling needs. Robin goes up and beyond. She is very compassionate about her job. Again, thank you Robin! KimE

I went to this group several years ago, and worked with a therapist I'm this Gresham office, Kyla,…read morewho was great. So, when I found myself needing help this fall with some mental health issues, Kyla was not available, so I took an appointment with Dr Overton in their Gladstone office who listed my issue as one of his areas of expertise. What a waste of time. I was told by administration staff (3 times) to bring a person with me who has knows me well as a part of the evaluation. The Dr didn't even know why my friend was there! Totally unprepared, He had not read my previous charts to get any background on me (this became apparent when he asked if I had ever heard of EMDR - the very thing I saw the last therapist at their practice for). In general, a very disappointing session, and $200+ spent. After thinking about it for a day, I decided this person was not a good fit, and called the office to let them know what happen and that I was going to look elsewhere. Their response was simply, "ok". I would not recommend this practice, or at least not this office.

As part of an ongoing custody dispute between my wife and her ex, he continually threw anything and…read moreeverything he possibly could at us, to see what would stick, as well as try to exhaust us mentally, emotionally and financially. One of these tactics was to request a wholly unnecessary psychological evaluation of the child in question, despite there being no motivation or evidence that there was a need for such a thing. But that's the thing about narcissists: it's not about anyone else but themselves, even for their own children. A talented psychologist should be able to spot such manipulative and self-serving behavior on their own, but *especially* when evidence is provided to them of previous incidents, some of them quite damning, and all of them documented. Lies, slander, subterfuge, all of it on paper, and presented during preliminary interviews. Unfortunately, context and evidence apparently doesn't seem to matter here, and Dr. Jeff Lee has all of the personality and deductive reasoning of a flowchart. After a series of interviews with both parents, our son (my step son), and myself, and several thousand unnecessarily spent dollars later, the final determination in the report is that both households are healthy, safe and loving, finding neither of them in favor of the other. Sounds great, right? At the very least, not terrible. Here's the rub: despite our son being wholly in the custody of his mother for the five years since his birth; despite the fact that she has 90% of visitation time; despite the fact that he has two half-brothers that he has lived with his entire life; and despite the fact that *I* have spent more time as a father figure to him than his birth father, this "neutral" determination came with a recommendation for 50/50 custody, because... ...get this... ...his father's school district is rated slightly higher than ours. So Dr. Lee recommends that our son's entire life be uprooted, gutted and turned on its head, despite him being healthy, happy and functioning, within a complete family unit? In what way is this good for the health and well-being of a developing child? Not only was all the evidence of his birth father's conniving and manipulation ignored wholesale, he failed in every possible way, to do the very minimum, and using his intellect, training and reasoning to comprehend that maybe, *just maybe*, if nothing is broke in the child's life, stop trying to fix it. Show your work. Prove that something needs to be changed *for the child*, not the manipulative narcissist who just wants to get his way. Instead, Dr. Lee simply checked the boxes, followed the outline, and produced the most feeble, milquetoast, ineffectual report imaginable. And this is not an isolated incident; our attorney has discovered that, on at least one other occasion, Dr. Lee's reports have been challenged and thrown out of court; an expensive endeavor, but something we may consider going forward with in the future. If you want someone to root out the truth, and provide honest evaluation with a learned and critical eye that prioritizes the well-being of children involved in custody disputes, look elsewhere.

Incompetent and unprofessional. I did a lot of research for custody evaluations prior to choosing…read moreDr. Poppleton. He came recommended by a recently retired custody evaluator (who has since learned never to recommend him). The first appointment I waited for 10 minutes before seeing anyone in the office and a full 20 minutes before meeting Dr. Poppleton. I work full time and had to take time off to make all of his appointments, which he was late to every single time. He talked about his prior cases the entire time we first met and it was difficult to get a word in. Dr. Poppleton's intern was great to work with and did the majority of the evaluation, but I don't think Dr. Poppleton read any of her notes or recommendations. He made up his own mind based purely on chatting with me and the father for less than an hour each. He charged more money, despite using an intern, and cost me unnecessary attorney fees by not responding in a timely manner numerous times. He made numerous mistakes in his write-up and was not following current psychology practices when administering evaluations. His writing skills are lacking and his focus tended toward my sexual behavior while ignoring my husband's repeated rape and punishment. To be clear, I received a favorable evaluation: getting full custody and recommendations for the father to get anger management help, but Dr. Poppleton failed to grasp the severity of the situation and has put my daughter in jeopardy with giving the father too much time alone with her.
