I don't really want to sully positive reviews here for negativity, but I was bullied at this school during my time as a student here. Not only from the students (two of whom I was in a toxic friendship with), but the PARAs, teachers and adults who should have known better. I was a disabled student with several family members that died during my junior and senior years, and I was yelled at for crying in class and for having panic attacks that were out of my control, causing increased mental breakdowns throughout the day. This school also has a history of racism and prejudice as a whole, and I had an unpleasant encounter with some students saying homophobic things to another student only to act like it was all a big joke, some other students in my class were joking about prison r*pe and genuinely thought it was funny, and my Mexcian peers were treated horribly by a staff member who I won't name solely because they were Mexican, and another PARA was so islamaphobic to another staff member that they made them cry. The only saving grace were the positive staff members who made my experience worthwhile, namely the receptionist, who I still have yet to call to thank her, my case manager, my writing teachers, and my science teachers. Still, I was afraid to report the toxic friendships I had with the two students I knew here due to the trauma I sustained. The way they treated me was no way to treat a student who experienced several deaths in the family. I would advise against sending your students here, but given the positive reviews others left based on their happy experiences, I would advise you make this decision for yourself and take caution if your child claims their teacher is out to get them because at Hopkins High, that claim may very well be true.

They lied on the daily sheet about how often they changed him, and since I cloth diaper I know how many times he is changed. If they are lying on my sheet, I'm sure they are lying on other kids sheets as well. The staff is nice enough to talk to, but I have no trust in the quality of care my child is receiving.

He was almost completely unable to answer any question about the day care. He just kept telling us to read his brochure. I politely explained that we wanted to get some more information about the staff, activities, meals and so on. He was completely absent. It's almost as though he was deliberately trying to deter us from going there. Conspiracy theory? Maybe so but I can't understand how someone who cares for children can be so detached from what is happening on his business. Also I got the sense that none of the people who care for the children have any training or certification at all. One of the staff was wearing ratty sweatpants with holes in them. When I asked about credentials of the staff the owner was very evasive. He just told me that the staff has "a lot of experience with children". It didn't take long to decide that this place is not going to work. I would regrettably suggest that you not waste your time by stopping in for a visit, because even if you're the least bit particular about who watches your kids, you won't line this place.

There was a woman in the window, looking over 3 toddler aged children. I thought she would've come open the door for me but didn't. I walked up to the door and turned the handle, and was able to let myself right in. First red flag. You should not be operating a daycare where you are able to open the front door to a room full of toddlers as you so please. We walked inside and waited for someone to come to us, someone finally popped her head around the corner as she was chasing a half naked child, and told us the infant room was in a different building (house) behind the one we were in. We walked through the house to the next one and were greeted by another woman. I told her we were there for a meeting with Jim and she brought us through the house to go upstairs to meet him. He wasn't there. He showed up about 2 minutes later. He brought us upstairs and said, "what questions do you have?" One of the questions I asked was how often they sanitize toys, he said, "everyone's been healthy so it depends." I asked what their policy was on sick kids, again I got an answer of "it depends." Then I asked what their security was like, to which he replied "passive". I said I walked right in the front door on Cleveland and he goes, "well yeah, but not to the infant house." It doesn't seem anyone there is credentialed whatsoever, there is absolutely no security, the infant "kitchen" was filthy, it stunk, which is to be expected when you have a bunch of dirty diapers around, but it was less than tolerable. They have no sort of communication process with the parents, other than writing notes to parents at the end of the day/week and no cameras in the "facility" either. Jim was very willy nilly about everything I'd asked, I asked if he had a packet of info he could send me home with, he didn't, and it seemed to have very little structure. I would absolutely not bring my child here.

I'd recommend Sandcastle to anyone--they've been around for over 25 years for a reason!

He moved up to the second level with the preschoolers and my son and i just LOVE his teachers! He has had the same three teachers for about a year now and jumps into their arms every morning. They are amazing. The food they serve isn't the best, just like grade school would I guess, no organic meals or anything but you can bring your own food for them if you can afford it. They have fun side classes and my son brings home the sweetest stuff that he's worked on. My son comes home with great knowledge and the teachers communicate to me everything each day. Their facebook page is also pretty great.

Our daughter has been at Holy Nativity since she was 12 weeks old & she is now 19 months. We just transferred to a new daycare closer to our new house, so I felt compelled to share my experience at Holy Nativity because we were very reluctant to leave! Brittany is the Director & is on point. She answers questions, she is professional, kind, and you'll often find her hands-on in each of the classrooms. The rapport she has with all of her teachers is evident in their tenure. Most of the teachers have been there 10+ years. In childcare, that is unheard of. I truly believe it's a testament to Brittany's leadership & the environment created at Holy Nativity. If you are looking for a great center for your kids, here are some reasons to put this daycare on your list of places to tour: -Reasonably Priced: We were paying $305/week for Infant care (5 days a week) at Holy Nativity. Closer to our new home, the prices are more like $350+/week. It's a great value. -Teachers are experienced typically carrying Bachelor's Degrees in Education/Elementary Ed/etc. -Teachers have been there a long time & LOVE their jobs. There's nothing worse than leaving you kids with someone who doesn't care. These women love your kids like their own & you feel how genuine that is. It was one of the most important things to me when choosing a center. -Extra-Curriculars: They go above and beyond to create fun experiences for the kids. In the summer, they have an agreement with the nearby YMCA for splash-pad access in the pre-school room, they rent bounce-houses for the kids, have special musical guests, chefs, etc. WOW! -Every holiday they celebrate & Christmas involves a Christmas show with Infant Room-Preschool represented. -It's a small center: 1 infant room, 1 toddler room, 1 pre-school room. You won't fee like a number here. -Professionalism: Brittany in the office is responsive, addresses concerns, and keeps the vibe at Holy Nativity so positive. I can't recommend this school enough. My daughter Birdie has started at a new daycare but she still says 'Amy' (her Toddler teacher's name) every day on the way there. I know she misses it.
