No good. Waited over an hour for a student ID. Disorganized. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.

I pulled him out after learning he was getting in trouble and shamed for not eating the snacks offered. We are still working on food issues with him although he has been away from this terrible place for nearly 10 months now. The director/owner/teacher does not allow parents in the school which is a huge red flag. This is not a true Montessori model.

I had such high hopes for this school. As a military family who recently moved to the area, I was…read morelooking for the best option for my child for VPK and thought I had found it here. I was very wrong. I was getting notes home for things like not properly using a tissue, taking his socks off incorrectly, or he spit out a snack he didn't like onto his plate. He would come home miserable. He started having issues at meal times over trying new foods. When I tried to communicate with the teacher/owner, I was told she made an exception allowing him in to her school and I was free to pull him out. There was no empathy or warmth. After doing research, I found this school is not accredited through any Montessori programs. It is not following a true Montessori method which I would have seen if parents were allowed in the school at any point, however parents are not welcome. This is not child-led learning as Maria Montessori envisioned and I was very disappointed in the way my child was treated and did end up pulling him out. It wasn't worth his daily misery for minor infractions of being a child that were constantly pointed out to him. He has been much happier away from that environment.

RBCS seemed like a quality school - their admissions…read moredepartment made me feel welcome and made the school seem excellent academically. However, I had three problems: 1. The talent development program (presented as special education) is not special education. The instructors don't need to have education degrees and get on-the job training and seminars on specific general education topics. The only difference I saw is smaller class size (yay) and slower speed: they use the same material as other schools but go slower. The students didn't seem to get other resources including no sustained reading specialist intervention (it's only a short term intervention if staff feels it'll help). 2. Responsiveness to concerns: several administrators dismissed our educational concerns, asking us to trust their process. But their process involved much less actual educational teaching than other area schools. 3. Discipline: admissions stressed that their discipline system hasn't changed in 50 years. It showed. The system in elementary school involves a dozen or so red-letter items (in the blood of Jesus) and a similar number of black-letter (sinful) items. The discipline system is absolutely equated with moral/ Christ-like behavior. Children are frequently admonished about their "red" or "black" behavior. Lots of kids show anxiety about this. A lot of parents stated concern. My kid had daily issues over this to the point of needing medical intervention. The problems resolved when we switched schools. This was one experience - it may fit well for others. But I recommend asking lots of very specific questions before choosing RBCS.

I signed up my daughter for classes in January and after some initial confusion we got the first…read moreclass scheduled in February. The instructor, J, told me to not listen to the office and she would do all of the scheduling and I was fine with that until she started scheduling on days and hours I had told her not to schedule. I was understanding that things happen and not angry, though a bit frustrated. J then tried to change on of the class hours because it was a holiday and she assumed my daughter was out of school and informed me of this, but by daughter is dual enrolled and had class that day. Then it became apparent that she had dual-booked and she canceled my daughter's class, though she indicated earlier it was because she wanted to get off earlier. She then cancelled the next one due to weather, which is understandable, and shortly there after said my daughter would get a new instructor and they would reach out with a new schedule. After a week or so of no one contacting me I tried to contact the company directly, but the phone number goes to a full mailbox. I then email several times and never got a response. I contacted the instructor (J) since she was the only number I had and she said the new instructor had left the company and she wasn't scheduling anyone until she got back from vacation. I asked her when that would be and never got a response. A week later I went by the office in Niceville to see if I could rectify the situation in person and was informed J was off of her vacation and to contact her directly, and they would as well. I reached out to J to tell them what I was told at the office and got a terse reply back about "who told you to contact me so I can talk to them" and I let her know, and she did not respond with a thank you or any acknowledgment. I waited a few more days (until today) and sent a text and asked her if there was any update on the scheduling. She responded by telling me that I should use the "proper greeting' when texting her. Then she texted again and said there was an issue with my daughter's account. I texted and told her it was rude of her to act as if she was the victimized one here and that I would like her boss's phone number. She did not reply, but then called a little while later to inform me that she was raised to give a proper greeting before asking a question, implying that I was not raised properly. I informed here the issue here was not my texting style (I was never once rude or even angry before this), but that I have been very patient with this for over 2 months now and no one responds to me, and she herself has been rude by not answering my questions. She continued to try and talk over me and when I told her that was rude as well she hung up on me. This has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone if their present state. I sympathize if they are short staffed, but if you can't meet the demand then you shouldn't take on new customers and you certainly shouldn't be rude to the ones you do take on for getting frustrated with this. I am giving them 2 stars because I believe the 2 classes that J did give to my daughter went well and she instructed well. I also do not blame her for most of the issues I have had with scheduling and a lack of response to my calls or emails. I was extremely disappointed in the end though. I have never written one negative review of anyone or any business in my life, so for me to do this should let you know how dissatisfied I am. I do not take this lightly. v/r M. Smith
