He also says he's "not trying to be a block to treatment", for instance if you suggest a treatment that isn't his first line, he'll explain to you why he thinks there is a better option to try first. But if appropriate, he'll let you have input in regards to your own care. He also does a great job of trying to help you select options that save you money, and doesn't run unnecessary tests or prescribe unnecessary meds if there are other options that are cheaper. My wife and I have both been to him multiple times and we remain satisfied with our doctor. We also have no problems getting appointments and they'll even work you in on a walk-in if needed.

I had a appointment at 3pm and I was seen at the exact time which was very nice. She was a great breath of fresh air compared to my last doctor I had. She gave me a routine checkup and asked if I needed any medication to be refilled which I did. The ladies at the checkin window was very nice. I am glad to have found a doctor that took her time to give me a routine checkup. So now I'll be going back for my bloodwork next month. I noticed a few couples here with babies so they take care of all ages. It's a great change that was the best part of my visit today.

Even though we caught it within an hour and the billing office said she could void or reverse the transaction she refused to. He asked if he could just wait until it went to insurance so we would have time to get the refund from where my son had paid and she refused to let my husband see the Doctor unless he paid too. So disappointed in the negligent care a friend received from him. My friend has had recurring…read moreissues and has asked Dr. Schemel (as his PCP) for referrals to specialists. He declined the requests for referrals to a pulmonologist and a GI then he finally referred him to a pulmonologist after recurrent pleural effusions. The first thing the pulmonologist said was that he needed to see a GI. I feel like my friend has been given substandard care and the potential delays in treatment may affect his outcomes. I genuinely hope no one else is treated like this by this doctor.
