When I returned on my last day, my first stop was for coffee and I enjoyed (even though it was bitterly cold) the outdoor market. The flower shop was delightful and I found myself in several shops buying various items like an apron, teas, honey and more! I even snagged quiche at a small bakery. I am so happy I made time to explore and I highly recommend. Locals must love all the meat markets, delis, produce and eateries!

I didn't realize how much went into making chocolates and how particular it was. Fascinating...and delicious. Can't go wrong. Samantha is the "bee's knees" and brings fabulous honey to the area. Lip balms, candles, honeys, jams that I had to take home. I left with yummy goodies in my tummy and thankful I don't work at Bee Haven because I would eat it all up. YUM! (I'm not a big salad eater- so saying that is kind of a big deal for me!) The cheese with fruit (and honey) jams, the drinks... and have I mentioned the chocolate? I really enjoyed the retail space and seeing how they have created so many different honey items. But- the best parts were the tasting stations (duh!). The different honeys produced by the bees based on the current pollen offerings was an insightful lesson. Then there were the chocolate stations. I wanted to be adventurous, but by the end of it I knew I would have a belly ache. There were a couple of bar chocolates I didn't get to try, but, that's just one more reason for me to go back! The filled chocolates that were presented for us were both beautiful and an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I loved seeing the process, because I didn't know the effort and time it takes to make. Such a cool lesson!!! I've never been to a Cincy Made event, so I'm especially excited that I got in on this one. My husband eats a lot of honey- and I eat a lot of chocolate. We live close- so I will definitely be back! I didn't even realize the Chocolate Bee was there- so what a great introduction!

Our group had 8 people, which is a nice size...everyone could hear the leader and got to know each other a bit. The tour lasted about 3 hours and we had 6 stops along the way: stuffed french toast, empanadas, pizza, goetta breakfast sandwiches, cheese & fudge, and waffles. Everything was delicious! Refurbished in 2014, he now has a dynamic digital sign and an electronic message board. Metrobot is the work of Nam June Paik, a Korean-American artist who works out of the Solway Gallery. The artwork is on the streets of downtown Cincinnati and you can't miss it when you're visiting the museum. And while I usually love getting FTR's, I'm really pleased to see that the Cincinnati Yelp community spotted this artwork and added it to the Yelpiverse! Compliments all around! Went to The Chocolate Bee for the first time today. The chocolate pieces they make are so…read morebeautiful that you will hesitate to eat them, but you must because they are divine. Quite a variety and each one better than the one you just tried. Started off with a dark chocolate turtle which we ate while we were deciding what else to get. I bought wildflower honey on the recommendation from a friend. Then bought half a dozen pieces of chocolate to take home to share. The colors and the flavors are so enticing that we ended up eating all the pieces at one sitting. Even bought a chocolate Eiffel Tower as a gift. You won't regret going here.

I liked it. Growing up on the west coast, I'd see the Dodgers fly into Cincinnati for a road game…read moreand I'd think, "Where the hell is Cincinnati?" Downtown Cin is great. And, overall, the city is really attractive and progressive in ways that I wouldn't have predicted. The two sports stadiums (MLB, NFL) are side by side on the river, which is cool. There is some gentrification with some downtown shops and then, of course, there is poverty, too. And then every downtown block or so you'd see a confident white guy with a GUN IN HOLSTER out in the open on the belt... Some dude from the Wild Wild West strutting down the street with his gun there on the hip. That, all the old brick buildings, and the feeling of cultural mishmash gives Cin a kind of edginess that I don't feel in Indy. Oh, and they have cool gift shops and restaurants as well. Don't forget to buy a Cincinatti shirt to remind your Midwest friends who have never been there how untraveled they are.
