I was skeptical that any church could replace my home church from Frisco. I moved up to Providence Village and was determined to keep driving 45 minutes to go back there every Sunday. My wife came across Covenant Crossroads and talked me into "trying it out". God works in crazy ways!
I can tell you that I did not fall in love immediately. We joined a marriage class at the campus a few weeks after visiting. People seemed a little distant and uncomfortable at first in the class however within my first few weeks we realized that this place and the people were special. The people in my class have been cemented as always having a special place in my heart now. This church did something different that I had never experienced before at church. It created a bond between strangers that I never thought could have happened.
Covenant Crossroads is "real" not pretentious and over the top (still good though). No stones thrown here because this church is for people that drink a beer occasionally (or a lot), make big or little mistakes, try to keep from keeping up with the Jones's, and every other stupid things we do that we know is wrong. Everyone at the church recognizes their own short comings and loves each other despite it. I have not met a person at the church that doesn't try to learn your name ask you about you and get to actually know the real you. This church really is a reflection of the area. People in the Aubrey, Providence Village, Crossroads, and Pilot Point area would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. The church is made up of those core beliefs of loving your neighbor as yourself.
On top of all that the church has one of the most passionate pastors (Pastor G) that I have ever listened to. He is funny, real (did I say real already?), knows how to relate high level seminary talk to normal everyday Christian struggles, and gets to know every church goers name and situation. For example my in-laws visited us and went to church with us twice. About two months later they visited again and the pastor knew their names and asked them a question about their dogs. Just crazy!
All I can say is I love this church. We literally go every time the doors are open. Not only to praise Jesus with a worship service but to truly love our neighbors as ourselves. Ifyou are searching come by on a Sunday or a more intimate Wednesday service. You will feel better than you have in years! read more
