They claimed to be trained in dealing with special needs children. Their idea of "training" was to strap my child down with a papoos board and force his mouth open. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and willing to help. You will NEVER feel like "just a number". They remember and USE your name regularly. The insurance specialist is excellent in helping you understand what's covered and what's not. The billing is professional and easy to understand. From reminder cards to reminder phone calls, you won't forget about your visit. They're not overbearing about it or anything... just helpful. Dr. Richards is knowledgable and patient, fast, yet thorough. Our son came to Dr. Santoro on a referral from our regular dentist to fill my 5 year old's cavities. He had an unrelated/freak accident the day before where he had got a plastic BB stuck in his ear. He was so scared crying and shaking and ghost white. The staff was sooo good to him. Making balloon animals and the office was filled with toys. It is a very relaxed environment. Dr Santoro was able to get my son calmed down not only to look at his teeth but his ear (something he wouldn't let any ER dr do) too. Dr Santoro was joking with him and really made sure he was comfortable and happy. Because my son was so petrified they didn't do all of the routine exam and prescribed a medicine to get him to relax the next time he came in. Dr and staff was very helpful, kind and compassionate to our situation. I have referred all of my friends here too! This is the best dentist I have been to for children the office is set up like a little park with park bench & picnic table. It has a stone pebble pathway in the waiting room and toys, toys, toys! Scammers. Allenwood Dental is a racket. They advertise a new patient teeth cleaning and x-rays for…read more$99. They took the x-rays then I waited around for about 45 minutes. Then they decided to only clean half of my teeth! My teeth are in very good condition and i don't need any other work. Afterwards they told me it was because my time was up, despite only taking about twenty minutes to clean half of my teeth. Then they try to schedule a follow up visit to finish the cleaning and charge me another $410! For a simple cleaning with good teeth! They are intentionally ripping people off with their "bait and switch" scam. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
