I got severely bullied, called slurs (while the…read moref-slur was used towards me, the n word is regularly shouted through hallways and in classroom). There are many fights and I would not say I felt especially safe here. I made several reports about the bulling, slurs, and my things being stolen due to other students not liking my hobbies, nothing was done about it and I continued to get bullied. Me and my friends get barked at regularly due to us dressing differently. The bathrooms are awful and more often than not to there will be people vaping in there. The teachers aren't amazing, one refused to use a student's preferred pronouns, when asked he stated "I can call you whatever I want". Another teacher managed to not notice a student having a panic attack in her class. All in all I would not recommend this school, I have experienced lots of discrimination and have been slammed into walls due to the inconvenient layout of the hallways and the rush of poeple crossing the school, trying to get ti classes very far away in less than 4 minutes.

My daughter is in her second year as a middle school student here and it has turned her life around…read morein such a positive way. She came from a public school in Sedona but it was not challenging enough. Even though it's a one hour drive, we are delighted to take her here to Flagstaff because she has discovered the love of learning again. She loves Latin, and Physics, and Advanced Geometry. Whereas in her old school they just offered "science " class. She now passionately knows what she wants to do as a profession ( although that could change). She is self motivated to learn study and get good grades now, because she has already picked out the Ivy League school that is best in her chosen field of Paleontology , and she knows it won't be easy to get in. She has a great group of friends who are all good influences on her, and she loves volleyball when the school offers it for girls.

During this time, a piece of ice struck my son on the back of the head, forcing his head forward into his forehead and breaking his glasses. The teacher attempted to fix his glasses but did not seek medical attention for him or notify me. CPS/DCS personnel were present at the school and also failed to ensure he received care or that I was informed. I only learned of the incident later that evening when my son told me what happened. A few days later, he developed a high fever that required medical attention. I asked if it could be related to a possible concussion from the impact, but no diagnosis was made. Fortunately, antibiotics were given to prevent infection. This shows a complete lack of common sense and duty of care.
