Fantastic burgers, delicious bacon, great quality meat, knowledgeable butchers As soon as you hit the center of Borough markets, your nose will tell you where to go to find this place (in case you managed to somehow miss it on the main avenue). They serve three types of burgers for 4 squids (lamb, pork & stilton, and beef) along with complementary sauteed onions and you can splurge for blue veined cheddar (sharp, full, rich flavour) for an extra 50p and/or proper bacon for 1.50. I'm a huge fan of the lamb as the meat is flavourful and moist with that hint of spiciness inherent in good lamb. The best part is that as this is part of the Northfield Farms meat stall, you know the meat is actually a) meat and b) decent quality which makes for a much more satisfying experience. And as you are munching away, take a look through the cases or have a chat with one of the butchers about perhaps something for dinner. Even if you aren't sure yet what you want, they will be happy to provide suggestions and options that will leave you craving a juicy steak or perhaps aching to make a full on roast for the coming Sunday. Northfield Farm is another butcher located at the popular Borough Market. In addition to selling beef, they sell grilled hamburgers and sausages which must be good considering the length of the line. I stick to their meats when my favorite, ginger Pig doesn't have the cut I am looking for. This place has wonderful, fresh cuts of meat and the knowledgeable staff are more than happy to help. read more

I had high hopes. The main sign I saw said a burger on brioche with cheese and some sauce for 7.50. I ordered a burger and it was not on brioche, was overcooked, and had no sauce for 5. Maybe I ordered wrong, but they didn't clarify or anything. It was edible, the meat was nicely seasoned, but it was a decidedly mediocre meal and I was kinda bummed I missed out on other stuff at borough market by ending up with my meat briquette on white bread. The onions were nicely cooked and the salad was good quality, probably arugula and spinach. I guess I wouldn't do it again unless I were more careful with my ordering and knew what I was getting. read more

Loved Borough Market - this place won my lunch business when I saw a line of people eagerly awaiting the sizzling meats that smelled absolutely tantalizing. This is a review of a very, very specific thing: their lamburgers, with sharp cheddar and grilled onions. I strongly believe this may be the best food value I ever found in London.
