Downtown Anchorage was pretty dead the day after Iditarod, with no food carts in sight. The carnival was a little small and there weren't that many food options (they had the reindeer nuggets advertised, but said they weren't doing them that day). Definitely worth planning a visit to coincide with as there is plenty of other things to do in the area.
