I have to agree with the other reviewer, this is the worst company I've ever dealt with for dance and skating wear! They give incorrect timeframes for shipping, with no apologies, act like we the consumer are the problem. I ordered two pairs of tights on 3/24/26, and was told it would be one week for processing. It is now 4/17/26 and still no tights, and one of the excuses i got along the way was that the package was "misrouted". What a joke. And yes, i agree with the other reviewer that Cassie is rude. I will never buy from this store again. I waited a month with no update, and the owner never told me the items were out of stock. I had to message several times just to get basic information. When she finally shipped my order, it was only partially fulfilled, and the rest went missing in transit. This is cross posted from Google, but when I searched for reviews I was surprised by all the negative results. Wish I had done that first. I bought a dress online, it did not arrive in time for me to wear it for what I needed. I double checked shipping before I purchased. I emailed about returning the dress which was still in its original package unopened. I had to pay for shipping and was only given a partial refund due to original shipping. I'm out about $25 for a dress that I never even tried on. Don't buy from here if you think you're going to need to return it. It's a shame I was hoping to look at their other items but due to the customer service will not make another purchase. Edited to add: I wish I had looked at the reviews. It seems like Cassie has a history of slow and delayed shipping and only giving partial refunds for her lack of timeliness. She wasn't particularly rude with me but she was short and unhelpful. She has an awful lot of 1 star reviews for them all to be fake. read more

I placed an order on Oct 20, 2024 it's Jan 25, 2025. Never received the order. The order is still in confirmed status and hasn't processed. No other email or communication attempts were made by the company. I will be reporting this to my bank. I've ordered from many other figure skating supply companies in Canada and US with zero issues. Only issue is with Northern Ice & Dance. This is not how a retail or ecommerce company should ever operate. Go someplace else and avoid ordering from here. read more

I am a mail order customer. I purchased footed cotton tights for myself and I love them! On my first order there was only one pair available to ship of the two pair I ordered. Northern Ice and Dance let me know that and the communication between us was fabulous! They let me know when the second pair shipped and that pair arrived right on time. The quality of these tights is excellent! They are very comfortable and the waist doesn't constrict around my middle like other tights I have purchased in the past from other vendors. The owner Cassie is extremely unprofessional at handling customer service. I ordered a couple of items a month ago and she did not give me a heads up about it, with a cryptic email "order sent for production." If an item is in stock it is assumed to be ready for shipment. I asked why she did not let me know in advance and she said that Mondor is a production company and that 2-4 weeks is normal for processing time and they are still in the window. If this is the case WHY mark it in stock? Just say it is out of stock and would need 2-4 weeks of processing. This is not the case because she just wants your money. Look at all the 1 star reviews. All the 5 star reviews are from personal contacts of her who don't write yelp reviews. One of the items she said it happened to be out of stock and she also didn't give me any notice! I found out once she refunded something I was waiting 4 weeks for! Her replies are very rude and direct as mentioned by others. Expect one liners after weeks of buying the items. If you can't provide an ETA then you shouldn't be running an online business. Bottom line, don't buy anything here to avoid dealing with her poor character. read more

Please avoid this online store! By default most items are a back order, They do not have the items listed on their website in stock. There is a delivery time of around six weeks. According to the them skating world operates via production time, and this does not need to be indicated on your shopping cart. In the end she cancelled my order without saying anything, as she could no longer take my feedback about her store's delivery times being stuck in the past. read more

I placed my order on January 11 for a Jerry's dress and, given the estimated production time of 1-4 weeks, I thought that would plenty of time to get my dress for the end of February/beginning of March. When I still had no shipping update almost a month later, I sent a polite email asking about if they had an ETA and reminding Cassie that I needed the dress soon. She wrote back saying that it "should be fine" and I interpreted that as I would have no problem getting the dress in time. That was on February 5th. Fast forward to March 6th and still no shipping date notification and, at this point, I'm definitely worried that I won't get the dress in time. I send another email and Cassie said she would check on it. I spent the next week waiting for her to get back to me and all I got was silence. I sent a final email on March 13th telling her I purchased a dress elsewhere and wanted a refund. Luckily, the new dress from a different vendor arrived within a week. I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering from this place. Cassie is quick to take your money but is vague in her communications (when she communicates at all). Just writing to express that any of the crappy/mean/rude reviews of Cassie/Northern Ice are TOTALLY wrong. As long as you're a courteous and polite customer, Cassie takes care of you. I went to college in the town where NI&D is located, and I went in there by chance one day. I was just getting back into skating after some injuries. I grabbed some tights, had my skates sharpened, whatever. Kept coming back for little things - gloves, practice skirts. Then she got Yankee Candle. Hoo boy, did my off-campus house smell good! Here's why I'd give her 100 stars out of 5 if I could. After 4 years of being a student at Clarkson down the road (which, by the way, is her 'landlord' and doesn't accommodate her as they should - even as an alumni of the school I can see that she needs better care & courtesy from the facilities), buying from her, and stopping in just to say hi sometimes - I came for one last visit on the day I moved away. Knowing I was going to skate up at school, I came in to grab a new pair of pants to practice in - and she wouldn't even charge me for them! Cassie is a class act, and the only way someone's getting bad treatment from her, is if they start it. Her no-nonsense attitude toward crappy customers is exactly WHY I choose to continue buying from Northern Ice and Dance even after I've moved away from Potsdam. It's the golden rule, people. Hi well I wish I had read the reviews first. The woman who described the owner "Cassie" as being mean is totally correct! I broke my leg skating and the paramedics had to cut off my tights. From my hospital bed I tried to stay positive even tho would take months for me to even hope to skate again. I ordered a new pair of tights as an aspirational positive to just have them ready to go. When weeks went by and no shipping update I became concerned and emailed Cassie who I am not a personal friend of like the other objective reviewer. She was very vague saying they were being manufactured would take about 3-4 weekend I though I was buying a product that existed. Her return email to my next question if this was a scam was to rudly imply that I didnt read her fine print AND SHE REFUNDED MY MONEY WITHOUT ME ASKING FOR A REFUND. She basically dumped the sale because apparently my question caused her to have an anger meltdown. While the Jerry's fleece lined stirrup tights are about 25.00 everywhere else- you don't need this antagonistic "customer service". BE WARNED! read more

Also found a blade that wasn't available at other retailers for a great price. I ordered them the Sunday before Memorial Day and they arrived less than a week later. Unfortunately, an item i had ordered through Cassie was listed as backlogged. She followed up with me several times to let me know the status. After a few months the manufacturer told us it was no longer made. Instead of just refunding my money, Cassie was kind enough to not only refund the money but send a similar item to me for free as a way to thank me for my patience. Everything about this company is a SCAM! The owner "Cassie" is a scam artist like you wouldn't believe. Purchased a pair of ice skates from them for about $100. Cassie emails me telling me she doesn't have the skates and offered to send me a different style. I accepted the other style that she offered, but instead of receiving them, I received a refund. Actually, instead of receiving a full refund, I only received a partial refund. She refunded me $70 instead of the $100 that I paid. She refused to answer numerous emails about this, so I had to open a paypal claim to get my money back. Surprise, surprise! She responds IMMEDIATELY to the paypal case with lies, excuses, and pure gibberish. Very rude and abrasive woman with zero concept of how money or business works. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this SCAM ARTIST, unless you like paying money for nothing and enjoy arguing with the most ridiculous woman. I must admit, the messages she sent through PayPal were quite comically ignorant, so you might get some enjoyment from it after all. read more

It makes me sick to give this business even one star, but since zero stars is not an option I guess I have no choice. I emailed Northern Ice and Dance before placing my order to determine shipping timeframe. I was promised free shipping in 5 business days within the state of New York. That worked perfectly as I needed the dress within 8 business days in order to decorate it in time for my daughter's competition, so I placed the order and Northern Ice and Dance charged the sale price to my credit card. When the dress had not arrived after 6 business days I emailed the owner (Cassie) to find out where the dress was. She was very evasive and said she needed to check with the manufacturer and would get back to me. I reminded her of our time constraints and she told me if I needed it in a rush I would have to pay a drop ship charge of $25.00! This was six business days AFTER she promised me I would have the dress within five business days! I told her I was not going to pay an additional fee after this delay when it was clearly not my fault the dress had not yet arrived. I asked her to to get back to me as soon as possible the next morning after she talked with the manufacturer. Cassie did not respond the next morning, so I emailed her again and asked her whether she had spoken with the manufacturer. Again, she failed to respond. I ended up calling the manufacturer directly and learned that (for reasons not the fault of the manufacturer) my order had never been processed and the dress had never been shipped. The customer service rep for the manufacturer was wonderful, and offered to ship the dress directly to me via FedEx ground at no cost to me -- wonderful! The dress is now on a FedEx truck on its way to my house, and I will have it today -- TEN business days after Northern Ice and Dance charged my credit card. After reviewing many comments I've seen on the internet over the past few days it is clear that Cassie Laurence, is unprofesssional, nasty and not someone you want to do business with. I should have looked for these reviews before giving her my business, but lesson learned. Never, ever again! read more
