They require for someone to take you to and from an appointment where you undergo anesthesia, understandably. However the will not write a work excuse for the person giving you a ride to and from the procedure. read more

I recently had a colonoscopy at Northeast Endoscopy, and from the minute I walked through the door until the time my procedure was finished, I had the best care possible. Everything was done in such a professional, yet friendly manner, that my nervousness suddenly disappeared. I had this same procedure done at Northeast Endoscopy ten years ago with the same incredible doctor, Dr. Geetanjali Akerkar, so one would think I would NOT be nervous! But, being older now, I was. No need! EVERYONE that took care of me treated me like a family member. The nurses answered any questions I had, took their time with me, genuine caring for my concerns. I had been up most of the night before and was concerned that the cramps I had in my legs were going to interfere with my procedure. The doctor and nurses assured me that they would not, that I would be in a very comfortable state, and all would be well. They brought me a few warmed up blankets, and I was as comfortable as could be! Going into the operating room, Dr.Akerkar introduced me to the " team" who would be taking care of me. She knew that I had a tendency to wake up from anesthesia sometimes with an upset stomach. She told me I would be receiving an anti nausea medication, " just in case I needed it." I was informed about everything to expect and I was totally at ease. So, anyone who is going to have a procedure at Northeast Endoscopy should read this review and feel blessed to have this kind of exceptional care at Northeast Endoscopy. i was told to show up at 10:45 and they never took me into my appointment till 11:40. Then I waited till 12:04 for an IV. After the IV was in I waited till 12:22 for the anesthesiologist to come and talk to me. She was very rude and left me to talk with another patient. Then proceeded to ask who was taking care of me and asking for my vitals. After complaining about know one taking my vitals she then just left me. My vitals were finally taken at 12:45 but I still waited to go in to OR. The doctor seemed very nice and the nurses were nice as well, but they were quick to get me out of there. My husband had the same procedure done in Salem nh and it was a completely different experience. I was allowed to sit with him after he came out and go over everything with him and the nurse. He also got a snack which I did not. I just had a very different experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!! read more

April 2022, I had an colonoscopy and endoscopy in Northeast Endoscopy Llc in East Setauket. The doctor highly recommended both procedures since I am 46 y/o and my insurance lowered the age to have both done. I asked different staffs if my insurance full covers the procedures since I really don't necessary need them, everyone answered yes, "you are full covered by your insurance" A month later, I got a bill for $ 14,643 because they are out network!!! WHAT!! Are you guys kidding me!!! I called the billing department and they were going to take care of the situation. Well, yesterday I got the bill again with the same amount. I called again and I asked to talk to the manager but she/he was on a meeting, of course. Please, be aware of this place!!! You can not trust them at all!!! The anesthesiologist, Dr. John Manos treated me so poorly I never even ended up getting the procedure done there. First time going there and I've never encountered a doctor with a more unprofessional manner. I will say that the nurses and staff were very helpful to me after Dr Manos' mistreatment of me and getting me over to LGH where the treatment was top notch with a much better atmosphere. This place is a private clinic that's essentially the jiffy lube of colonoscopies.. It's a rushed atmosphere with little to no privacy and many people in one room. The beds are too close together with only a few flimsy curtains separating them. I recommend getting it done at a real hospital where you don't have to deal with this guy. I think he may too stressed out by the volume of patients to actually have time to care about them and treat them like people instead of cattle. read more

this is not a bad review about my colonoscopy procedure but about the billing dept at northest endoscopy center. i have a refund due after i was incorrectly billed for a portion of the procedure. i was told numerous times that the refund manager had my refund and i was waiting for him or her to give me a credit. they have had my claim for almost a month. i call once a week for an update. they keep on saying it is with the refund manager and that is it. very unprofessional and unethical. i should have my refund by now! i am very upset with the billing and refund department at northest endoscopy center. be aware of the billing dept. they are scam artists. every time i call they tell me that my claim is with the refund manager. they tell me i should get my refund by 08/14/2023. i will keep the people on yelp and anyone else up to date on my situation. do not trust the northeast billing dept! as of 08/17/2023, i am still waiting for my credit of $599.00 to be posted to my account. i got into a screaming match with the associate. i am so disgusted with the northeast billing service. still waiting for my refund! i am going to take legal action against northeast endoscopy! The staff is terrific for the most part. But they overbook so they rush you in and out like it's a fast food place. And if you have a later appointment, they make it clear that all they want to do is get out of there. You can't even think straight or ask questions. I don't know if it's the doctors who have insisted on that, but it has to come from somewhere. It's very unsettling. read more

They used an anesthesiologist that's out of my plan without telling me, and then tried direct billing me for it. I put off going to these places for a long time. I have to review this place because I was so impressed with everything they do. Starting with scheduling, they are courteous and efficient. They fully communicate expectations and do their best to prepare the patient. When you check in, they are friendly and do their best to make sure everything is in order and the patient is ready. The nurses and doctors are great, very kind and understanding, guiding the patiet through the process and what to expect. After the procedure, they kindly take care of you and explain everything that was done. In the meantime they contact your transportation in plenty of time for your discharge. You never feel alone and never feel pressured through the whole process. They are true professionals at what they do here. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Where do I begin? 3 different staff complained to me that my insurance didn't cover the usual Propophol that they normally use and they would have to use versed and fentanyl. Not sure why this was even being discussed 3 times with me. Nurse anesthetist put oxygen by nasal canal on me-had it cranked up to 10L and when I said it was uncomfortable, I was asked if I always got anxious with procedures. During the colonoscopy, the physician was obviously so rough that apparently I experienced pain and my heart rate dropped to 40. After it was over, the nurses were yelling at me to keep my eyes open, handed me my bag of clothes, never made sure I was steady on my feet. They left me alone to get off the stretcher and change. I signed things when I was completely drugged and don't remember signing anything. I don't remember what the doctor said my results were because I was so drugged. And I was discharged without any papers to go home with. I will never go back there and neither should anyone else. Horrible place and horrible staff read more

wonderful clean facility nice decor friendly greeting staff prep nurses were excellent,polite,friendly,made me feel welcome,took great care of me both anesthesiology drs were great - polite and explained everything dr reichheld was wonderful the post ops nurses were another story - not very friendly - in a rush to get me out the door handled me roughly - it hurt more when she took the iv out than when it was put in and used the junky really sticky tape that really tore my hair off when removed too bad that they left a bad impression with me read more
