its a typical metra station. arrive 10mins earlier than your train if you need a ticket from the station. Also beware if a freight train blocks you from the appropriate side of the tracks. otherwise you'll pay a surcharge $3 on the train. Northbrook is zone E. plenty of benches outside to sit and wait along with indoor. There are a few express trains that zip thru at 60 mph sometimes, so be careful to stay well behind yellow line, otherwise you'll be thrown around!

Have been here before. Don't remember using it. But my father did for almost 20 years. Good station. And handy so close by.

I'm not sure what's taking me so long to put a review here for the Glenn in general. Especially…read moresince I've been coming here since they opened at least 15 or more years ago I believe. The only reason I'm giving it three stars frankly is because even in the last almost 20 years I believe that they've been open unfortunately there's been a lot of turnover when it comes to the restaurants. I'm not sure if this is simply due to high rent, but there's really nothing that the Glen or its Landlord are doing in order to provide any real stability and it's rather unfortunate. Also, since this place was built, the parking situation has always been a challenge and it continues to be. In fact, it just gets worse with all these special parking places and reserve spaces that continue on the main strip. I do hope that things get better, but with the way that it has been structured and built there really is no opportunity for expansion whether being retail and restaurant space or even for parking I will say it's been great to see the movie theater Von Maur as an example of two establishments that have been here I believed the entire time this place has been open Similar to a lot of other moles, there's a lot of empty spaces and vacancies and it's very sad especially when it's surrounded by million dollar homes in a suburb of additional multimillion dollar homes

I guess I've never reviewed this shopping complex, but we've been here a million times over the 13…read moreyears we've lived in the vicinity. The massive area was previously the site of the Glenview Naval Air Station and this shopping center is the heart of the huge Glen residential community as well. There are numerous shops and restaurants here and it's always a pleasant experience to visit. Like Fashion Outlets in Rosemont, every time we visit there is something new here. One business or another has left and another has stepped in. The rent must be high here, and if you don't continually draw the requisite traffic, you won't survive. We've seen a lot of businesses come and go. Remember Ted's Montana Grill? - it was a favorite of ours and also one of the first to disappointingly close in our earlier years, and that's now The Oak at the Glen, and in a prime location. Some of our favorite and long standing and still standing businesses here are Von Maur, Dick's Sporting Goods, and the Yard House. I could probably name another 20 shops or restaurants we liked or tried here, but that have all since closed. Jibek Jolu is a relatively recent addition that we like for what that's worth. We were going to try Dee's Place (soul food) one day, but dang, they closed before we even got to it, and that was a big investment in a large space for that restauranteur, and too bad. It can get busy and crowded, but nicely there is alway parking to be found in one of their parking lots. Oh well, business is tough here for the tenants, but for us consumers, this is a great upscale town center.

The children's area is spacious and has fun features like a LEGO table that encourages creativity and learning. While some other libraries may offer more toys, I actually like that this space isn't overcrowded--it helps children stay focused and use their imagination. The staff were all very polite, friendly, and helpful. Overall, it's a wonderful place to relax, read, study, or spend quality time with your kids. I'll definitely be coming back.

It has evolved from a quiet spot to grab a book into a true hub for creativity and connection. I like that Kate Hall, the director, is always looking for input from the patrons on how to make the library even better. One of the many things I love about NPL is their 'Library of Things.' Over the summer, I used their recording technology to digitize a bunch of old VHS tapes from the comfort of my home. Last night, I participated in a virtual glass fusion workshop. The materials pickup and drop off, and the class itself was all well-coordinated and user-friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed that class as well as others I have taken in the past, such as book-making. Additionally, I love the fact that I can put books on hold, and that either the NPL staff will pull the books for me, or other libraries will send them over to NPL. It's super convenient to then be able to just walk in the door and grab my books off the shelf. I seriously could go on and on about all the things I love here. The Northbrook Public Library is easily the best resource in Northbrook!
