People there are cool and everything but I just got a cleaning and It was no lie less then 6 minutes long beginning to end, I've never felt that rushed at any dentist in my life. Also waited 25 minutes in the chair before hand. They did get the little plaque off my teeth where I wanted gone but still was the least effort I've ever received ever and won't be going back. Dr. Monica Patel is an excellent dentist. she made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in her chair. she made sure I was good and numb before she proceeded the root canal and asked me if I was okay several times. I appreciate that , as I'm not the bravest in the world. I got through the procedure just fine with no pain or discomfort. My father had dementia and was in a wheelchair. I was very concerned about taking him out of the nursing home and bringing him to a new place. From the beginning, Dr. Patel was extremely kind and compassionate. She took her time with him and spoke to him with dignity and grace. My dad never seemed stressed or confused when we went for multiple visits to fix his dentures. We never had a long wait and Dr. Patel and her great assistant were quick and precise. Like so many other have said the receptionist was on the phone talking about her personal business loud and you have to wait like half an hour to be seen and the person taking the x-rays hurt my mouth pretty bad and when the doctor came in and I wanted to talk to him about implants he said he could do it pull the teeth put in the implants and not put me to sleep and not give me any pain medication after the procedure. I was horrified. He said if the teeth extract easily then you shouldn't have much pain well that may be so but drilling into my bone in my mouth is going to be painful and he should give me an antibiotic also. I know other doctors that do implants and they put their patients to sleep. I don't feel this place is sanitary because all the rooms are open to the hall and people walk by and it's just not very sanitized to me. The other thing is my insurance was going to cover the temporary upper denture and they're telling me it didn't and it was going to cost me $1,300. I called my insurance company and they said no that's covered. They said to me if you want to file a claim against them just call us back. I haven't gone that far but I'm definitely not going back there. The lady at the front desk keeps calling and leaving messages and sending me text messages can't they get the hint? I would not recommend going to this dentist. read more

Ive been going to northbridge smiles for about 2 years . I've never been so upset with a dental office until today . They changed their billing and charged me an extra $148.00 dollars for the same cleaning procedure that I've had done there many times . When I asked the receptionist why my dental cleaning is $268 she says you had an exam and x-rays. I said like all the other times I've come here and never had to pay that much money . Well she says they didn't charge you right . She tells me that I have decided not to have insurance. I'm a senior citizen on Medicare and Medicare doesn't cover dental . Warning to other seniors make sure you ask before you sit in that dental chair what your charges are gonna be . read more

This dentist office was awful! First of all, the amount of paperwork was ridiculous. Second of all, the receptionist was not welcoming in the slightest. After sitting in the waiting room for 40 minutes plus, I was brought to an exam room, which was not private or comfortable. It was wide open to the hallway. Each room I walked by was completely visible. You could see what was being done to each patient. I went there because I have a wisdom tooth that grew in that had cracked and was bothering me. I have had this happen before and I would go to my old dentist, they'd take an x-ray, numb me up. And pull the tooth. Not the case here. When the dental assistant finally came in to do X-rays she hurt my mouth so bad. The pieces they use to do the X-rays were way too big for my mouth and I had tears running down my face. And I have a pretty big mouth sos I don't want to imagine how painful this would be for someone else. Like another review said, she X-ray'd each area MULTIPLE times. It was torture. After that I had to wait another 45 minutes to see the actual dentist. He came in. Poked around, and was more concerned about doing a cleaning/ scaling and root planing. Which is expensive and I had to get authorization from insurance to get it. I kept asking about my wisdom tooth, which he kept just bouncing over. He finally ended up telling me He couldn't remove my wisdom tooth until he did a deep cleaning...I've never heard of such nonsense. I've had three wisdom teeth removed at 3 different places. None of them have ever done this or said this. So I ended up leaving, with another appointment. I chose not to go back. I went to another dentist office and they did an xray, pulled my tooth and sent me on my way! No pain! Northbridge smiles needs to be shut down. I visited Northbridge Smiles for the first time today and am very impressed! The staff at the front desk were friendly and knowledgeable. The x-rays and cleaning went smoothly and the dentist was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to explain the treatment plan she was putting together for a crown I've needed for a while, and how it would work. Before I left the front desk gave me a printout of what my insurance will pay and what i will be responsible for and it is in line with previous crowns I had done at my previous dentist. Also, they got me in quickly for the cleaning which was taking forever at my previous dentist and were able to schedule my crown at a time convenient for me. I've moved fairly regularly, so over my 50-year lifespan I've been to numerous dentists. When we had to switch this time, I was looking forward to Northbridge Smiles. They had great reviews and their online sign-up system was great. Red Flag 1: Highly questionable paperwork asking large volumes of unnecessary medical questions, giving them permission to do 'any other procedure' they felt necessary, and most importantly, a paper for me to sign saying I'd read their privacy policy when they never even gave it to me. Highly unethical. Red Flag 2: Poor setup for cleaning rooms. The entire back wall (with a small pillar) was open to the main hallway so my cleaning was visible to every person passing by. TV blared news for the entire one-hour-fifteen-minutes about a 12-year-old girl being raped by a stranger. What happened to quiet music? No spit sink. The entire situation was unprofessional. Red Flag 3: Poorly trained technician. She used X-rays far too large for my mouth so I couldn't even close my teeth. I had to shakily balance the films while they cut wounds into my mouth. This can't be good for sharp-quality X-rays, never mind my mouth health. She had to ask for help several times on how to use them. Due to issues she ended up doing MORE than one x-ray for every tooth, which in itself is an incredibly high dose of unnecessary radiation for someone who has always had great teeth. Every other dentist has done four quadrants and those have been more than enough to show my teeth were still fine. Red Flag 4: After an hour and 15 minutes *just on x-rays* the doctor finally showed up to do the ultrasonic cleaning. He was awful. Every single tooth hurt so much I had tears rolling down my face. Never with all the dentists I've used has the experience been so painful. And after he finished the teeth weren't even clean. He said, they will feel clean after polishing. Red Flag 5: The assistant was awful at cleaning. I practically gagged because she didn't remember to use the straw-suction and there was no spit bucket. When she was finally done, and she "rinsed" me, I had water all over my face. I had to wipe it off, myself, with my skirt. My teeth in no way felt clean. They were still all rough. I am now going to have to pay, myself, for an actual cleaning from a more skilled dentist. It's not that I was expecting perfection. I've been to a large number of dentists due to my many moves. But this was the absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of the level of care they provided for the mouth and teeth. Maybe the other reviewers had other technicians and dentists and I got new hires who were improperly vetted? That still doesn't account for the TV news option, the poorly shielded patient rooms, or the dentist having people sign forms saying they'd read something that wasn't even provided to them. read more

I moved to the area and started going to Northbridge Smile about a year ago. The true test of a good dentist came when I had my first dental emergency. Without warning shooting pain started around 7pm in my upper mouth. Some ibuprofen and I went to bed. And then I was up again. The pain had spread: shooting, mind numbing pain on both my upper and lower jaw. Forget sleep. I was up all night miserable. I called first thing in the morning as soon as they opened. The receptionists explained they were completely full for appointments. I explained that breaking a leg (which I have) was less painful then what was happening in my mouth. She said she'd talk to Dr. Shah. Ten minutes later I got a call back and I'm pretty sure Dr. Shah gave up his lunch to see me. Radiographs, antibiotics and an appointment to the endodontist were done. He assured me the antibiotics would help with the suspected tooth root abscess (which needed a root canal). He was right. Two doses later the pulsing, shooting pain was down to a dull controllable level. I have a new found respect for dental pain and truly appreciate Northbridge Smiles for getting me in right away so I could get on the path to being a functioning human being again! I'm not looking forward to the root canal, but it could be worse. read more

They are the worst dentist office I have ever been to, if I could give them zero stars I would. The dentist there did a "root canal" and cracked my tooth to a point where he said I had to get it removed. He didn't provide enough numbing and caused me 2 hours of pain without much remorse. He said that pulling out a tooth hurts for everyone as well as belittled me when I asked for a break. He said he didn't have all day. I had to leave due to the pain and my gums swelled over the piece of tooth leftover. The dentist there said I should take anxiety pills next time I come in because the pain was caused by my nerves. I have never been nervous to go to the dentist but this situation definitely created a fear. I had to go to another dentist that specializes in surgeries to remove the rest of the remaining tooth and didn't feel a thing. I will never recommend them as a dentist and can't believe they are still up and running from what I've heard from others. I don't believe I even needed the root canal after discussing this place with others who said they got a second opinion after going here. The office in Whitinsville is clean, welcoming and I started there as an emergency patient with no insurance. I was seen immediately and treated well. Now that I have insurance, I just started for treatment. After an exam , X rays and cleaning, Dr Shah explained my options of treatment plans and recommendations. The front desk staff checked my insurance coverage and gave me a copy of the plan and cost. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I made my decision and booked my first appointment. Going to this dental facility once was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. It was terrible. My experience was how Lisa S. from Worcester explained her experience in her review. I don't understand how they have any positive reviews. RATING should be ZERO with how I was treated there. I previously wrote a review with many details on how horrible my experience was. I have always been relaxed and comfortable going to the dentist. I have never had any fears of going to the dentist in 60 years. I have never experienced anything like how I was treated here. It truly felt inhumane, like I was on an assembly line.... Not allowed a cup to rinse. Not allowed to spit. Someone squirted water and suctioned it for you. poking the suction tube in your throat. I just went for a cleaning. It was very abrasive and has caused permanent damage. My gums were pulled away from my teeth by the equipment they used. ....
