He watched me coast off the freeway down the exit ramp coming to a stop. He came up behind and offered assistance. He had just enough gasoline in a can to get me back on the road to the next gasoline station. Most gracious, helpful, and especially courteous. I've had the pleasure of taking a few meetings here, and the fire folks have been kind and gracious in their hosting. The trickiest part is the parking, which is around back. Surprise! There's a park back there, too! Up front you'll see the strange wood carved statue. Character, maybe? The inside is nice. Not fancy, not really decorated, surprisingly stark but efficient. They have a few meeting rooms, and that's the extent of my fire station knowledge. No dalmations to speak of.

Most of the cops here in town are fine. I have no warrants or have ever even gotten a traffic…read moreticket...knock on wood. However, there is a cop who harassed me every time he sees me. My days start around 5:00 am, like others as well, and if he sees you at the grocery store, the Laundromat, pumping gas, etc. he will grill you over drugs and warrants. Wants your ID and will run your plates...for no good reason. He's bored on his late-night shift and goes on "fishing" expeditions. Too many people here are afraid to say anything, lest the police retaliate. I filed a complaint and the PD never even contacted me. Just imagine, waiting on your Delicates to finish washing and the next thing you know you're being treated like a drug-addled criminal.
