Small clean little laundry spot not to crowded at all. Right around the corner of my house.

It was a Monday late afternoon easy parking, and only a few people doing laundry. The first washer I tried had hair and other debris that needed to be cleaned out I tried another that looked sufficiently clean but not meticulous. I loaded up one of the larger wash machines and went to start it. They do not take Credit Cards, or quarters as their competitors do. Turns out they are token only, I found that to be retro and annoying, an extra step to getting an already unpleasant task done. Not to mention I have extra tokens that I'm not sure I will be using. I did not notice any staff during my visit, besides the wash machine I first encountered it was overall fairly clean. They feature ultra fast dryers with a max dry time of 32 minutes. I hang dry most of my clothes but what I did dry was done in under 32 minutes. The upper dryers are deep and high I needed a step stool to reach some of my socks which they do provide under folding tables. Easy in and out, not over crowded, and no garbage littering the parking lot made for an overall positive experience. Most likely will be a return customer, some additional cleaning could elevate the business.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK...Beware... rant to follow. TERRIBLE BUSINESS. Many machines out of order. No…read moreaccurate contact information for management. No assistance available on-site and no convenient way of reaching a human being who can help; a tattered paper sign on the wall closes with something like "...management, Kindred Realty." But Kindred Realty doesn't seem to exist any longer. Calling the phone number listed for Kindred Realty now reaches Gentry Realty, who responded that they don't have anything to do with the laundromat. On a Friday morning in September, 2024, with four houseguests arriving in the evening to spend the weekend at our cabin (water supplied by well), I unknowingly used a faulty washer at Shoemaker's Laundramat (which also seems to be referred to online as "Kindred Laundramat) in Boonville, about 10 miles from my home. The multi-load machine had no "out of order" sign on it. I loaded my laundry, inserted the necessary quarters, added detergent and started the machine. When the wash was done, the washer door would not open, no matter how I repeatedly tried to do so. And, there was no way to unplug it (in order to hopefully reset it) because it was plugged into an outlet in the LOCKED basement of the building. I ended up leaving this multi-load washer filled with my belongings after a nice merchant who owns a store in the same tiny strip mall put me in touch with the owner's mother, who said she would contact her son in North Carolina and have him call me. Later that evening, the owner contacted me. He told me he would have the laundry, which included, among other things, a set of queen-size bed sheets (remember... I had houseguests arriving) dried and stored in a locked closet until I could pick it up. The next day, I played phone/text tag with one of the owner's workers, trying to arrange for someone to meet me at the Laundramat to unlock the closet so I could pick up my things. The following day (Sunday), before I had been successful at arranging a pickup, the owner, David May, contacted me via text to tell me his workers had mistakenly thrown my belongings in the dumpster and the dumpster had been emptied. He assured me he would send me a check to cover my losses (which also included previously losing $20 in one of the Laundramat's change machines and trying unsuccessfully to reach the owner for reimbursement). For a minute, I actually thought I was dealing with an ethical person who was simply having difficulty managing a business he was trying to sell from a distance (North Carolina). NOPE. Here it is, 9 months later, I've returned from wintering in the south, having resigned myself to the fact that I was not dealing with an ethical person at all. I'm searching online for a different Laundromat to use this summer. (Oh, and I never received a check or any communication from the owner or his mother). And... up pops yelp reviews of Shoemaker's Laundramat! And, the reviews I read were positive! So, I thought it best to get this off my chest and try to warn others that Shoemaker's Laundramat is not simply mismanaged, it is not managed at all. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

They had a table where you could sit and all of the tables to fold laundry were clean. One thing the owner should look at is the bank of white dryers. On the bottom row, the middle dryer started to eat a couple of our clothes. They were getting caught near the door. We could not get our money back from that machine when we moved it to one of the almond dryers. It should be looked at. Otherwise, nice place.

Classic City is more convenient than the competition, especially when you have to take the bus or walk (a $5 van may have been suggested at one point). Located in the former Swanson Dry Cleaners (yes, I'm that old, mind), yet that service is still available here today and done through a third-party, along with alterations. Staff member always on site (even at nights). However, unlike most other laundrettes, Classic City is still cash only, yet there's an ATM at the ready, and you can even get a bottle of laundry detergent, fabric softener or bleach for a few dollars to save a trip since the vending machine ones only go so far. Also, a number of washing machines and dryers have been out of order for a period, yet it depends on the time of day or week as to how busy it could be. A mainstay local business right in the heart of Eastwood. When I can, I'll bring in some larger loads in building site bin bags, knowing there's a place close to home that's value for money for my washing needs.

I like that this location is staffed during daytime hours (they have laundry services as well as self-serve machines) because when my search started I first stumbled across a review or two of other laundromats in the city where people had reported clothes thefts, and I got spooked. The staff seemed nice (one attendant held the door for me when I entered with my basket, which I was grateful for.) I went early in the morning on a Friday, and there were lots of free machines. I felt secure leaving my load and running around to do errands while my cycles ran. Of course, I'm hoping our building's machine gets fixed soon as that would be the most ideal, but this laundromat is not a bad alternative.
