This has to be the most unorganized school that I had the displeasure of dealing with. They don't…read moremail or provide supply in advance. Parents are forced to attend orientation. When we arrive, all grades received their supply list except first grades. Guess what??!! I need first grade list. Teachers are supposed to call us to set up an educational conference before school start. Are you kidding me?!! Some of us work and set appointments and meeting that we can't avoid. You want to set this up two weeks prior to school starting. I have twins, I am still waiting for the other teacher to call me to set it up. When I call to get the other teacher's name; I am bounced all other the place. I am so pissed!! Here some suggestions: mail for the forms to returning parents instead of forcing to come to an orientation that they attend last year. The forms can have easily been placed in the students book bag at the end of the school year. Educational conference can be held over the phone. I shouldn't have to be forced to be late for work for a 15 minute meeting. I can visit the classroom during parent teacher conference.

We were attracted to MELC by the intentionality of their curriculum - a great mix of structure, Montessori-type play, and emphasis on getting outside. They've been teaching children for 30+ years and it shows.. every aspect of their program is done for a reason. Our experience was everything we hoped for and our son absolutely thrived in the full day (8:45am-3pm) program, with parabolic language and social development. There was also a real community focus, with (optional) events almost every month to get parents and kids together. A best-in-class program operated by best-in-class people.

As parents you have the opportunity to speak with them in the pick up/drop off lines and in parent teacher conferences. They spend a lot of time outside and do lots of arts and crafts. The curriculum is solid and I'm amazed at how much she has learned so far. Beyond that I've seen a positive impact on in my daughters manners, vocabulary, interaction with other kids, etc. I see little mannerisms she has picked up from her teacher that are really sweet, kind and empathetic. They do adorable celebrations for birthdays and an amazing end of school year celebration complete with songs and dance. They have an amazing structure set up for flexibility. There are drop in options for before-care and staying later for lunch. I really can't say enough about MELC. We are so grateful to have found this school.

All 3 of my children attended Playhouse. The experience…read moreevery single day felt like love in action. The way the staff communicates to the children with active listening continues to inform all of my human interactions. Playhouse still has our hearts. I won't take the Playhouse bumper sticker off of my minivan- even though our last child graduated 2 years ago. I want other Playhouse families to recognize us- because those are some of the best parents I've met on this journey yet.

But one teacher I did not like, her name was Mrs. Waters. She embarrassed me in front of the whole class because I did not understand a math problem, she yelled at me and I was crying so badly, eventually, a classmate helped me out. I will have to ask God to help me to forgive that witch. The more I think about it, it hurts a little and I see did not forgive her.
