High horse and all too well - Two cocktails and a drink are on a bar counter, with menus and bowls of lemons in the background, suggesting a bar or restaurant setting.

Located in an old cabinetry store, this spot is delivering a unique ambiance with some solid drinks. We sat at the bar and throughly enjoyed chatting with the bartender. Must try the aquavit for the unique flavor! Cabin fever (not pictured) was our favorite with this liquor.

I enjoyed visiting the North Shore Distillery when seeing our daughter who is attending nearby Rosalind Franklin University. The inside decor and layout is different and interesting since it used to be a kitchen showroom. It's very spacious and clean inside. The staff is friendly, helpful and so knowledgeable about their craft. I had a wonderful old fashioned here and tried the rum and a seasonal cocktail as well. If you're not sure what to get, try spinning the "Wheel of In-Decision" and let chance (or someone else) pick for you. Thd perfect stop for a light appetizer and before dinner drink, or after dinner drink and truffles.

North Shore is nothing short of exceptional. I've been several times over the summer when they had their outdoor seating available and most recently indoors before the rollback of indoor dining. I enjoyed sitting in their library area with comfy chairs in a very laid back atmosphere. Parking is a breeze and service was exceptional. My significant other and I tried a few of their fall cocktails most recently, one of which my significant other truly enjoyed, so we bought their liquor (Doublewood Rum & Aquavit along with bitters) to take home and make our rendition of it. They provided their recipes to us and we enjoyed their Tiki cocktail the other night with dinner. We will definitely be back again in the future and again, have enjoyed spending our time at the distillery.

Patio and Cocktail! - A cocktail with a cucumber slice garnish is placed on a patio table with a fire feature, and a person is visible in the background.

I love this place! Definitely going to return soon. Genuinely one of the best cocktails I've ever had and great service as well.

A heavenly sweet event! - A person with brown hair wears a floral crown composed of pink roses, purple asters, and green foliage, with a plain wall and a small abstract painting in the background.

They host such wonderful events! The "summer dance" cocktail makes you want to dance all summer. Jenna and Dave are the best servers-- humorous and quick. A truly wonderful environment, amazing owners and staff, and the highest quality drinks in the Midwest. If you want a good time, skip the bars and clubs. This is where it's at! It's a preeminence cocktail restaurant (or so I call it). I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Thursday Flight Night, 3 mini cocktails for $10

This place is a hidden (well hidden to me) gem in the suburbs. I came with some girlfriends on a Thursday for their flight night. This place is like IKEA or any furniture showroom but with a bar inside. Every suburban mom's dream...or I assume so lol There are different rooms, one that looks like a living room, another that is a study or conference room, a marble kitchen, etc. We were told we could sit anywhere and so we chose to sit in the living room room near the mantle with a fake fireplace. All of us ordered the $10 mini flight special and oh my goodness it is the cutest thing ever! The cocktails are adorably tiny but still pack a good punch. It is the perfect way to try out different cocktails before you make a commitment to one which I think is awesome. Since I am writing this review so many weeks after I went, I can't remember the names of the cocktails...but I know they were delicious and refreshing and I can't wait to come back and try more of them! One of the best parts of our visit here was the service. Our server was so friendly and funny. Our water glasses were constantly filled and he checked on us throughout our evening to see if we need more drinks or snacks. NSD doesn't have real food besides little snacks but they let you bring in your own food which is awesome. I will probably take advantage of that next time. I will be back soon!

    Menu of flight night

This ambience and all the bartenders and waiters and waitresses are so friendly. They have amazing flights and events on some nights. It seems like you stepped behind a book case hidden door, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is complimented by a nice distillery museum and Americana history. You get to "meet" The owners by reading their story on the walls and it is so great!

This is a hidden gem in Libertyville. Amazing cocktails made with their various distilled spirits. I highly recommend their gin #11.

Great friendly service. The craft drinks were top notch. They explained the differences between their whiskeys.

Cocktails were Nordic Mule -- a Moscow Mule made with Aquavit - ordered for my husband since it wasn't sweet.

I went here with a group of 5 via a reservation. We were immediately welcomed and greeted by a wonderful host who sat us and explained the menu options and recommended we try everything. We did just that we tried over half the menu and everything was incredible. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, bao buns, spicy edamame, udon noodles and more. After dinner we popped into the other side of the bar which is an art gallery and the bartender was so friendly, welcoming and fun! We walked around the art gallery, enjoying the beautiful exhibit and sipped our cocktails for at least an hour. This was such a wonderful experience, we will def be back!

It wasn't so much a speakeasy because it was not hidden, but that didn't really matter to us once we were there . The food was Asian themed and they had different drinks than the other restaurant next-door . I thought the focal point would be a bar in the middle of the restaurant, but there was never any bar that I could locate so that was also confusing. The food was really good. We had black garlic, deviled eggs, some tuna tartare and a lamb Ragu that was really good. So if you're looking for speakeasy, this is not really a speakeasy, but it has really good Asian food so just an FYI when browsing the Internet. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I was expecting one thing when I walked in and I got another, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food and drinks that we received so we will be back.

Feather Glass Wine Bar & Eatery - Vernon Hills, IL…read more Overall Rating: Highly Recommended Feather Glass is a fantastic spot that nails the wine bar experience with a beautiful, modern aesthetic and top-tier service. While the food is incredibly tasty, a few minor tweaks to the composition and seasoning of certain dishes would make the experience truly flawless. The Highlights: Drinks, Ambience, & Service * The Flights: We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and mimosa flights. They are well-curated, beautifully presented, and a great way to sample their extensive selection. * Atmosphere: The ambience is excellent and sophisticated, making it one of the most visually appealing spots in Vernon Hills. * Service: The staff provides excellent service--attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Food Feedback & Suggestions * Mediterranean Flatbread: Very flavorful, but the olives can make it quite salty. Adding a balsamic glaze would provide a sweet contrast to balance out the saltiness. * Beet Salad: Features fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dish would benefit from a touch more salt and a bit more acid (like a bright vinegar) in the dressing to really highlight the earthy beets. * Paneer Palak Bites: A delicious fusion idea, but the execution was slightly misleading and difficult to eat. The bread lacked the expected toasted crispiness, and because the paneer is served in a thin slice, it often slides off, leaving the sauce on the plate. * Suggestion: Try chopping the paneer into small cubes, bruschetta-style, and mixing them directly with the sauce. Layering that mixture onto a properly toasted baguette would create a much more stable and crunchy bite while keeping the great texture of the cheese. Final Verdict Despite these small suggestions, this is a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. The flavors are delicious and the overall experience is wonderful.
