I recently moved up to the Pine River area and needed to find a solid mechanic to do some work on…read morean old Jeep Grand Wagoneer that I am trying to keep running as a daily runner as well as restore it to its former glory. Some neighbors recommended Double A Automotive, which is good as it's definitely the closest repair shop to me. Basically, I needed a bunch of random things done (some of which I told them, others that they informed me of), and tasked the boys at Double A Automotive to determine what needed to be done, and preform the work as needed. Now, I take this Jeep seriously and want everything done pretty much perfectly. Call me anal, but I want to consider this a restoration - I needed people who were straight shooters, preformed quality work, and are able to think outside the box a bit as parts are not easy to come by. My neighbors were right. Double A set me up right, did TONS of work to a 30 year old jeep and got her squared up. The kicker? I gave them a budget cap of $2,000 to fix whatever needed fixing - they billed me for $1,200. Nothing else - no fake charges, no complications (except ones that I created), no jerking around over the charges. Hands down, the best mechanics I have EVER worked with, and I will be giving them ALL of my business in the future. You should too. (Located about 4 minutes East of downtown Pine River on MN 84)

Talk about great people to work with--We love Scamp!! We bought a 16' last year working with…read moreSteve, who was always a pleasure and who made the whole deal really fun and feel-good. We headed out of Backus with a smile and cheer, and have loved camping in our buggy! This summer, we found that our hot water heater (insta hot) needed to be replaced because Scamp had not fully winterized it. From 2,000 miles away, Steve listened to our specific situation, asked a few questions, commiserated, and then said Scamp would get us a new one. Within 2 days, Steve had worked with Erica in parts, and she had shipped a new heater at Scamp's cost. What's more, Erica then asked for our installation cost reciept, and within 1 week we were fully reimbursed! Now that's some excellent cutomer and standing behind your product! Awesome company, campers, and most importantly, people! Thank you Steve and Erica, SP & Nathalie

Last week I drove almost 1400 miles and over 20 hours one way to pick up my new Scamp 19" 5th wheel…read morecamper. I ordered it sight unseen after many hours of research on light campers. I spoke with Jim on multiple occasions and finally paid the $500 down, which I think is a very small amount to get a camper built to my specs. They promised a date in December but delivered weeks early. My friend who has a much larger camper calls my Scamp "Peanut" due to its contoured shape. The name has sort of stuck. The Scamp team was awesome. The minute I arrived, they jumped into action. Within a few minutes I was in the factory going over my camper. It was special to walk in the door and there sat a new camper with my name taped to the window of the door. The wait was over. I wouldn't change a thing about my experience with Scamp Trailers. they really delivered. Peanut was exactly what I expected it to be...perfect! It pulls so well with my mid-sized pickup, and it sleeps even better. My truck typically gets 20 to 22 mpg on the highway and I averaged about 16 pulling Peanut. It is easy to set up and tear down and seems to be very self contained. I was worried the bathroom/shower would be awkward but it really is not. I would recommend getting a clear shower curtain to section off the toilet and cover the door. It was a nice addition. I read a couple blogs about the heater fan being too loud. I used the heater multiple times and never saw it as an issue. If you are in conversation, you do notice when it kicks on but, I did not consider it an issue. If I had to say there was an opportunity it would be in the A/C unit. Nothing wrong with the unit itself. I am exactly 6ft tall. The A/C drops down a couple inches from the ceiling so I had to hit my head a few times before I started ducking automatically. Raising that a couple inches would give that headroom back. Having to duck makes it feel like it is a little too small. It really isn't. Thanks Scamp for an awesome experience. Bill

My husband ran over something in the road on a dark rainy night likely from the nearby road…read moreconstruction and ended up with a flat front tire. We left the car at our church where he was attending book club; and, I picked him up in the truck. The next morning we went back to the car and called Pro-Tow. He said he could do the tow within the hour. We drove over to their location which was only a couple of miles away and gave him the keys. We noticed at that time that they sell, repair and install tires so we asked them to get us two new tires like the ones on the back and have them installed. He said he could have it ready the following day. He called the next day to say that he had secured the same exact excellent tires that we had on the back. Later as he was installing them he determined that my front brakes were bad. We told him to replace them, as well, which he did the same day. I remembered that my car dealership had recommended replacing the front brakes at my next check up which didn't happen because their service department was closed due to a fire. Later that afternoon we went to pick up the car at Pro-Tow. He had kept the undamaged tire for us in case we had another future need for it and placed it in the back of my car. Since my car did not come with a spare it could prove useful at some point. He showed us the pads and rotors that had been replaced. They were totally worn out and had actually broken as they were removed. We feel like our tire accident probably prevented a future accident due to bad brakes. Then man we spoke with then and each time on the phone was the owner and super nice. He impressed me as someone who truly cares about customer service. He gave us an extra receipt for the tow and told us to see if our insurance company would cover it, something that had not occurred to me. He also asked me to come back for a free torque check on the new tires at a little over a hundred miles. He also gave us a cool pizza cutter. I'm very pleased to leave a ringing endorsement for service work actually done, not a conversation over the phone. My car drives like it's new again now! We'll definitely use their services again if the need arises.

They told us to call back. We then found another tow company so we could get out faster and called pro tow back to let them know we did not need their services anymore and they said word for word "congratulations. Thanks for ALL the calls" I'm appalled by how rude the service is. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Would rather wait an hour then to be towed by such rude people.
