She was a huge asset in grocery shopping for us too and even helped battle a random spring invasion of ants at our house - finding non-toxic remedies that worked for the whole family, including our cats. Jessica provided a sympathetic ear and helped me have some non-baby time to do other things around the house; for example, she held my daughter so I could find the time to work on a few volunteer projects that are near to my heart. On top of it all, she paid attention to my two cats, who were feeling a little neglected after the arrival of our daughter. I highly recommend Ballast & Buoy for any new parent, but especially as someone without family in the area and needing dietary accommodations (with an allergy, a meal train wasn't an option for us). She is super nice and laid back which makes her the perfect midwife! I went in to see her at 5 and a half weeks for bleeding for Hcg blood draw which showed my levels too low to be a viable pregnancy. I cried to her and we spoke for over an hour. She didn't rush me but was gentle and understanding of what I was going through. I look forward to getting pregnant again so I can hire her and have her by my side the whole time.

So far, I've attended a Tea + Tummytime class with Jackie (Tuesdays @ 11am) and the Feeding Circle with Brooke (Thursdays at 9:30am). I attempted to give this organization a second chance, feeling that after 5 years after leaving this practice things perhaps may have improved. I decided to try again with a different doctor. The office manager, Jennifer, kindly called me to ask why I wanted to be apart of the practice again. I explained that I was willing to give them a second chance, they have several (12) doctors to choose from. Dr. Adams was the one I chose. I was told by Jennifer that Dr. Pelletier and Adams cover for each other so it wouldn't work out for me. I then was told that their billing practices had not changed either..what? No one was talking about billing issues. It was then I knew my review was read. Jennifer said perhaps Generations wasn't a good fit. I said that Generations had been a good fit for 20 years and because of one doctor the experience changed. She then told me "We don't think you are a good fit for US! Good luck to you!" WOW really! So, in a nutshell, time to move on. Happy Jennifer pointed out that the customer doesn't matter, that customer service is not a priority. What could have been an excellent customer service moment for them: "We see you had a poor experience with one of our doctors, perhaps Dr. Adams would be a better fit" "You had a poor billing experience, how could we have done better?" No interest in winning a client back, just pushing them away.

I love my acupuncturist in Nashville so anyone should really pale by comparison. Imagine my surprise when I met Naomi and she absolutely blew me away with her expertise, compassion, sensitivity and attention to detail. I could not have been more impressed with her services. I loved my session. I definitely will be scheduling return visits when I return to Portland.
