Amazing Experience!…read more My daughter attended the summer program to make up credits at Spring Academy and we couldn't be happier. From our first meeting and tour of the school, I felt so much support and really sensed that they understand teens today. The principal, Andy Smallman, took his time to describe how the program and classes worked at Spring Academy, and I was very impressed with how he was able to connect with my daughter. Over the course of the two-month program, my daughter really enjoyed her teacher, Hailey, and really appreciated the one-on-one component of the school. She was able to make up the credits needed and is now attending her senior year at her public school to graduate with her friends. I highly recommend Spring Academy and can't thank them enough for the support we received.

Andy Smallman went above and beyond in helping me feel heard and offered suggestions for other support in the Seattle area (our son is a 5th grader and not qualified). I was waiting at a coffee shop a few doors down. I sat with her for several minutes before anyone returned. When I spoke to the employee she told me it was "safe" for children to be unsupervised in their lobby. I completely disagree and I am so thankful that nothing happened to my daughter. I would not recommend this center!

After attending SK for less than a year, I decided to try the alternative school. Most people think…read morethat alternative schools are for "bad kids." This is not the case. The school was fantastic. Yes there are alot of teen moms that go here, but so what, they would be completely rejected at the regular high schools. The kids that go here are amazing, they have had all kinds of obstacles to jump through in their lives. The student to teacher ratio is so much better than SK. There are about 15 kids per class. The work that is done here is based on what level you are at in a particular subject and then you climb the latter from there, instead of just getting thrown into a class and not knowing what to expect. They still have programs like ASB and yearbook, and they take a trip the Puyallup Fair every year. The best part is you still get a regular high school diploma. Some of the perks are you get an off campus lunch, you only go 2 days a week so it gives students the opportunity to work part time. The teachers are amazing, and the principal and admin staff are so nice. I loved this school.

My son's school only does grade-level adaptive assessments that cover a broad set of skills and so we wanted to get an outside assessment that could be more targeted to the problems we had observed. Sylvan's diagnostic was a little expensive - about $150 - but that's OK to get what we are looking for. They did not complete the assessment as we'd asked. They performed a similar style of adaptive assessment as the school district does, so we got no value from that. I already have access to nearly identical diagnostics from the School district. They also did an English language skills assessment which we had no interest in. We only came here for math. Performing this test did not add value, it just wasted our time. Finally, the process took a week. By comparison, Mathnasium turned it around same day at no cost, and did an excellent job of listening to our needs and targeting the testing to what we were looking for. Overall I feel like I've spent a lot of money for something I didn't ask for, that adds no value to me as a customer. I would have far preferred if Sylvan had let me know up front that they don't offer the services I was looking for. They seem like a wonderful resource for general improvements across the board - but that's not what I asked for.

School Year 2024/2025…read more Our journey with education has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but thankfully, we've found our perfect fit at The Bloom Academy! My son had an amazing preschool experience at a Montessori school, and was initially hopeful that kindergarten would continue on that trajectory. Unfortunately, after trying a private christian school for kindergarten, I realized it wasn't the right fit and had to pull him out after just 6 weeks. He then went into public school for kindergarten, which was a very disappointing experience. This fall, I started him in another private christian school for first grade, but after just 4 weeks, it was clear it wasn't working out either. I was feeling very lost until a friend recommended Bloom, and it truly felt like God was answering my prayers. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we'd found our school home. The smaller classroom sizes and strong sense of community at The Bloom Academy are exactly what my son needed. He thrives in a more intimate setting (hugs welcomed), where teachers can focus on his unique needs and guide his learning. The teaching style is exactly what we were looking for it's focused on fostering a love of learning, building character, and encouraging personal growth, not just pushing ahead academically. Unlike other private schools that seemed more concerned with being a year ahead academically, Bloom has helped me realize that the overall learning experience is what truly matters. What really stands out to me is the individualized education plan for each child. This is something I did not find in any other private school and has been such a relief for me as a parent. It's clear that the team at Bloom is dedicated to meeting my son where he is and supporting him in every way possible. My son and I are so grateful to have found Bloom Academy it's been a true blessing, and we couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education my son is receiving. Thank you, Bloom Academy, for giving our family the school experience we've been longing for!

I honestly can't believe there are no reviews of Bloom. This school has been an absolute dream, and…read morehonestly something we feared didn't exist. Our son attends both indoor and outdoor preschool here and the changes in him in the 5 months he's been at Bloom have been nothing short of profound. Miriam and Karen (who I believe are the owners and managers) are both such amazing and inspiring women who genuinely love children and want to see them flourish. Our daughter goes to a great private school in the area that has a reputable preschool program and we chose Bloom over them for several reasons. There hasn't been a day that goes by that we regret our decision, as a matter of fact I wish they taught older students so we could move our daughter here too! (Wishful thinking, I know.) We are particularly fond of 3 out of 4 of his teachers who have been so patient and positive in his life. His teachers are warm, loving, creative and encouraging. He's never enjoyed teachers the way he does here. The teachers have a joy here that I haven't seen in any other preschool/daycare setting. And lastly, the community of kids and parents that surround our son have been so wonderful and warm. People from all different walks of life with the common goals of the best environment for their little ones. Our family feels safe here, we also feel very loved. We are so thankful we chose Bloom!

=== This review is specific to the Mukilteo EACAP program located at Lake Stickney Elementary ===…read more This program is, in a single word, fantastic. My 3.5 yo child began a class here last fall and we've had nothing short of a terrific experience since day 1. School sessions are held in 4 different, fully-functional classrooms, each with a color-name, and supplied with a head teacher and at least two assistant teachers as well as parental volunteers, and each offers the choice between morning or afternoon classes lasting just shy of 4 hours, 4 days a week (no school on Fridays). Even before the school year begins, your child's assigned teacher will visit your home, explain the program and meet your child to make the first day(s) experience as comfortable as possible. Once school begins, classes are structured with daily schedules that include circle/group time, lunch provided by the school in the cafeteria (for PM class, not sure of AM), reading, crafts, fun lessons that usually correspond with a weekly theme, sufficient time for hygiene maintenance ala required hand-washing blocks, teeth brushing and consistent bathroom breaks, and TONS of sensory and free-play. In 5 months, my child is a pro at ABC's and color recognition and is far ahead of where I would expect in letter writing and fine-motor skills such as cutting, coloring within the lines and gluing. My child's classroom (The Red Room with Mary as lead teacher) in particular is a pure joy. My child began the school year very shy and apprehensive in nature. We weren't sure s/he was ready to be in such a bustling setting but it was BECAUSE of this extreme shyness that we wanted to try it out and we are just absolutely thrilled that we did. S/he has made friends quickly, is having a blast learning and playing in a safe, educational setting and the shyness has almost completely dissipated - after only 5 months! Each class is also assigned a family resource counselor who readily offers support both in and out of the classroom via regular check-ins and home visits, and after-school family activities such as Bubble Night, Literary Night and Parent Cafe - as well as open invitations to volunteer in or visit the classroom ANY time you want - ensures that you are welcomed and encouraged to participate in your child's early education experience. There is absolutely nothing I can possibly say that is negative about this school/program. It could use some posted direction and improvements in the parking lots (people parking in front of handicap walkways and in obviously restricted areas) but that's menial in the overall perspective. All in all, love, love, LOVE this place and couldn't be happier.
