The place smells amazing and the staff is courteous, helpful, and friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised by the incredibly appetizing selection of home-made baked goods and sandwiches. We stocked up on drinks and snacks to take back to the Algonquin for lunch and for breakfast the next day. The sandwiches were delicious and we had them with bottled blueberry juice, which I had never seen before. Can't wait to try the baked goods for breakfast tomorrow. Just loved it.

And the coffee was good. I'm glad we got to stop in and try while we were here.

Due to the time and the season we were told no food spots were open and this was likely our only option. Basically a lifesaver to prevent us from having to eat the minimal food we got in our car so we were thankful for their grab and go sandwiches and wraps. Bread was a touch soggy due to sitting in the fridge sometime but overall good size for the price sandwiches. Nothing world class or mind blowing but considering our situation and honestly price we can't complain!

The store is more "grocery" and less "convenience store" thanks to the large selection and the lack of large grocery stores in this part of Maine, which is right next to the Canadian border. Canned goods, candy, dairy, deli, lots of wine and beer plus the sort of automotive items you might find in a 7-Eleven including oil, anti-freeze and gasoline cans. They were stocking the pizza display as we arrived. They also sell lottery tickets. Plenty of parking out front. At this time, masks are required and the nice woman behind the counter was wearing hers when we made our purchase. [Review 14861 overall, 363 of 2021, number 47 in Maine.]

Service was friendly, albeit a bit slow. The food was subpar and quite bland overall. We ordered two portions of fish and chips. Not only were the fried fish quite small, they were completely unseasoned. The chips were similarly lacking in terms of seasoning. The coconut cream pie was the best part of an otherwise subpar meal. Overall, the ambiance alone could not salvage the mediocre meal.

Service was slow and a bit disorganized. After getting seated on the back deck, our wait for drinks was longer than expected. We ordered two iced teas and two Pepsis (I assumed the place isn't licensed). Only one Pepsi and two iced teas (inconsistently served--one with ice, one without) arrived at first. The second Pepsi followed, and oddly, a third one came later, which we declined. Trying to save time, I grabbed an empty ketchup bottle from a neighbouring table. When our meals arrived, I asked for ketchup and waited again--but eventually could wait no longer and went inside to grab a bottle and napkins (as none were given) myself. Food-wise, it was a mixed experience. My club sandwich was served on whole wheat (I wasn't asked white or whole wheat, though I would've asked for whole wheat if prompted), and the turkey seemed like a shredded spread--unexpected, but not the worst I have tasted. The fries were basic McCain crinkle cuts--no complaints there. The kids ordered burgers with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. One came dressed with extra toppings not requested, the other came with zero toppings. Once we applied ketchup, they were eaten but I did see some interesting looks when Kid #1 ate onions for the first time. Unfortunately, my wife's fish and chips were a letdown. She managed a few bites before declaring it unpleasant. I had to agree--it looked unappetizing. As we left, I couldn't help but notice most tables were full--but no one seemed to be eating. It's a shame, because the Seaquel has a great location with solid potential. But unless I need to kill ALOT of time before catching the ferry, I'll likely look elsewhere!
