Initially, we admired the fact that a young teenager was working as a server. It's commendable…read moreexperience for someone his age, though it's clear he's still learning the ropes. Service was slow and a bit disorganized. After getting seated on the back deck, our wait for drinks was longer than expected. We ordered two iced teas and two Pepsis (I assumed the place isn't licensed). Only one Pepsi and two iced teas (inconsistently served--one with ice, one without) arrived at first. The second Pepsi followed, and oddly, a third one came later, which we declined. Trying to save time, I grabbed an empty ketchup bottle from a neighbouring table. When our meals arrived, I asked for ketchup and waited again--but eventually could wait no longer and went inside to grab a bottle and napkins (as none were given) myself. Food-wise, it was a mixed experience. My club sandwich was served on whole wheat (I wasn't asked white or whole wheat, though I would've asked for whole wheat if prompted), and the turkey seemed like a shredded spread--unexpected, but not the worst I have tasted. The fries were basic McCain crinkle cuts--no complaints there. The kids ordered burgers with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. One came dressed with extra toppings not requested, the other came with zero toppings. Once we applied ketchup, they were eaten but I did see some interesting looks when Kid #1 ate onions for the first time. Unfortunately, my wife's fish and chips were a letdown. She managed a few bites before declaring it unpleasant. I had to agree--it looked unappetizing. As we left, I couldn't help but notice most tables were full--but no one seemed to be eating. It's a shame, because the Seaquel has a great location with solid potential. But unless I need to kill ALOT of time before catching the ferry, I'll likely look elsewhere!

Breakfast here was great. Diner food, expect good bacon and eggs. Popular breakfast spot it seems,…read moreespecially before the ferry. I got a Rhubarb cookie to go for later, which was EXCELLENT. When I returned for dinner, the place was empty. So that was kinda a red flag. Had a burger which was fine, not bad but nothing special. If you're looking for a perfectly decent diner breakfast, stop in here for a cool local spot. If you're looking for dinner, probably try the Tides Inn social if you're seeking better food.
