North Glasgow College is a great for a hands-on education, offering practical courses such as music performance, sound engineering, plumbing, fitness and fashion.
The music department is particularly good, with Scottish legends such as the drummer from The Proclaimers, a guitarist from Deacon Blue, the drummer from The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and a former member of Aztec Camera all as lectures and tutors on the course. The facilities here are good, with on site recording and rehearsal rooms for a practical learning experience.
One of Glasgow's great colleges, this place has staff that really care and will go the extra mile for their students, including the fashion and music departments going to great lengths to arrange activities and events in their own time outwith college time.
Situated in the slightly seedy area of Springburn, it's a little out of the way, however there's a good range of shops and food places nearby, and the hilariously named Muff Inn, if you fancy a cheeky pint between classes. read more
