After never missing an appointment , I had to cancel a few hours before an appointment due to health issues. When I cancel the appointment, I asked the person that answered the phone if I would be charged anything for the cancellation. They said that I would not be charged anything as long as I did not return to the office. I said okay and canceled the appointment. A few days later I received a bill in the mail for $75. I called and asked them to please remove the bill and explained my situation. Even though the person that answered the phone was extremely understanding and apologetic , after speaking with the person in charge of billing , that I was told that that person chose not to remove the charge from my account. I have never been treated so unkindly by a medical office. I have never received so little understanding by a medical office. I have filed a complaint with the BBB in hopes that the charge will be removed from my account, but I'm not holding my breath. If I had canceled appointments on the same day as the appointment on multiple occasions, I would understand why I was charged, but this is not the case. The person in the billing office that is choosing not to remove the charge should not be working on customer service, especially at a doctor's office. read more
