Stopped in tonight at 22:00 for a late night bite to eat. The hostess at first hesitated since…read moreclosing time was fast approaching, but then relented. We had a arni kleftiko and a pita souvlaki with fries along with one glass of red wine and a kawa. The food was delicious and we a takeout of the arni kleftiko since the portion was so large. The bill was 158 zl.

Taverna Akropolis sits prominently on Wroclaw's Old Town Square and has been a regular part of our…read morerotation of restaurants when staying in town on business. Like most restaurants on the Square, it has bumped out its seating capacity with outside tables under the awning giving it a distinct "cafe" feel. Throughout the week, we have been looking for restaurants with fish and seafood options. Akropolis filled that bill in spades as we thoroughly enjoyed the grilled Salmon Filets and the Assorted Seafood over Squid Ink Pasta. One member of our team chose a Greek kabob of pork with a side of fries. We also really enjoyed the fresh Greek Salads as well as the Saganaki cheese in a traditional Greek flaky pastry shell. We were bummed out that the restaurant was out of the bottle of French wine we had chosen from their wine list and had to settle for a sub-optimal pairing. Other than this vino misfortune, the service was exceptionally professional with thoughtful touches. This was another example of Poland at its best!
