The North Adelaide part of the Adelaide City Libraries is smaller than the North Terrace Library, and caters more to children than the other libraries. There is one room for all standard reading books, with four computers in the centre and some chairs by the window. There is a wall just for Large Print, so it seems that they also cater towards older readers. The second room is a space just for kids, with colourful chairs and lots of kids' books. It's a friendly, happy space, and a great place to bring the kids for quiet reading and play.
There is also a decent number of DVDs and CDs available, and a good selection of talking books, larger than I've seen at the other libraries.
I'd come here looking for talking books, and to bring kids. It's a gorgeous, heritage listed building in a nice quiet location, but still very close to O'Connell St. read more
