Absolutely not, the butcher scooped my ground BEEF with the SAME scoop that he previous used to scoop the ground PORK! And there was a half opened pigs head in the freezer, freezer burnt and all. The cashier was a sweet girl who understood my concern and when I said I no longer wish to purchase the ground beef because of the cross contamination she was very understanding.

I hadn't seen a food court in this grocery chain before so I wanted to check it out. They have a bakery area, along with a spot to grab selections of dim sum and also a la carte or combo dishes. They even had a Chinese BBQ spot in this area with duck, chicken, and pork options already prepared. For our entrees we got the rice noodle with shrimp (3 pieces) and sauce, the 3 item combo with side item containing rice and noodles, a veggie dish, fried chicken, and spare ribs in black bean sauce. The food was quick and cheap and filling. For the price and quality, definitely worth it. And judging by the line of people trying to order food, this was definitely the spot. It was a little slow and the associate manning the food did need some help, but it almost seemed like the food court line was not gonna die down. They had a few tables and chairs to sit and eat your food, it was just a little on the cramped side, and I felt more like there were an equal amount of customers and employees sharing that area to eat. The restroom was fine, just no paper towels to wipe hands (used the hand dryer). We also walked around the store and checked out the frozen section, seafood selections (bummer they don't offer cleaning options for fish), snacks, juices, candy, produce, and alcohol (spirits behind a locked display case). At the front, they even set out some gift sets to prepare for the holidays. The store was well organized and shelves were stocked. The only issue was when we tried to check out and there were only 2 cashiers available for probably 10-12 people. Luckily, the staff is quick and efficient and the wait time was minimal. I'd definitely come back and check out the store again in the future if I'm back in the area.

Our soups and oysters arrived after 15 minutes, but another 30 minutes passed with no sign of the rest of the meal. When I followed up with the same waitress to check on the status, she looked at the order and flatly told me there were no fish and chips on there. By that point, the restaurant was already closing. She asked if I still wanted them, but after waiting that long and dealing with that level of indifference, I just said no. Extremely disappointing experience. If you're going to stay open for customers, you should at least provide basic communication and hospitality. I won't be coming back.

Why go to the East Coast for Atlantic Farmed Salmon? Why keep weird pieces of the local fisherman's catch out there that make the whole thing seem like a bad deal?

I bought a big slab of bigeye tuna (4lbs), and some smaller (but still large) filets of ono and halibut (maybe 3 lbs each?), and 3 rock crabs (2 female,1 male -- loved that I could choose crab sex). Total cost of the fish was $76, and the crabs were $13. For that amount of fish, I think it's really great. I prepared the tuna as tataki and poke. I checked with the seller than the fish had been frozen on the fishing vessel to kill parasites so it was good to go. INSANELY delicious. If I were hosting a big party, I would absolutely go for a whole fish. The whole halibuts were about 7-14 lbs each (for $13/lb) and the whole tunas were about 20 lbs each (for $3/lb!!!) in Dec 2024.
